If we buy him, do you guys think that we will get Darmian too?

1- He's not that good. One of the few "unimpressive" Barca players.
2- Barca needs defensive cover in a period where they cannot buy a replacement.
3- If we are rumored to want him as a RB, Rafinha (or Darmian) would be a much better option.

Remember the saga that ended up with Thiago Alcantara leaving for Bayern Munich for a ridiculous amount of money given his potential? Well, the board led by Josep Maria Bartomeu have been caught out again: The absurd clauses included when renewing youngsters contracts could result in yet another very promising player leaving the Camp Nou.

Do you mean the clause about a player leaving for cheap if the club doesn't fulfill certain conditions such as playing time? Wasn't this what happened with Thiago as well?

Yes, i mention his name in the second post. I think same thing is gonna happen. Last year his release clause was 55-60 mln., now is around 12-15 mln.

If you look at the numbers, his stats in la Liga are actually the best among all four Barcelona central defenders even if he played less than half time compared to them. Moreover, he already played big European matches with his club, so the guy is experienced. Finally, when you look at his age (24), you think he still has great room for improvement.
Now, I'm not saying he will necessarily succeed with Bayern, but for this price, we risk little in making him Dante's successor.

If he comes as a backup for 12m and a reasonable wage, I'm fine with that (not that I'm impressed with the fact that there will be another Spaniard in the team but whatever). But, if getting him for 12m means letting go of a 17m Darmian (who had an overall good season, is an indisputable starter for his NT - one of the best defenses in Europe - and is also young), I'm all against it.

I don't see the link between Bartra and Darmian, the spaniard was rarely used as a right-back, so if he comes, that will mean Dante is leaving.

After a rather lot good signings it was about time the board made a mistake.
I believe in youngster potential, but:
A. At 24, Bartra has moved well past beyond being a wonderkid anymore
B. He lacks potential or current ability

Usually, for someone to be considered a future bright star they would have to show glimpses of class until the age of 21-22(Gotze, Muller, Thiago, Verratti, Pogba, Varane, Laporte, Griezmann, Sterling must I continue?), whereas this guy didn't. He failed to win a spot next to Pique(even though Barca is desperately looking for a companion for him since Puyol retired), with the coaches turning to Mascherano for that job, even though he's not a natural CB. We can take a guess about how good a defender he is.
Everyone who watched the two matches from two years ago(I'm not sure if he played both of them) know that he was very bad(admittedly, in tone with the whole team) and a player very prone to mistakes.

The club would end up paying 12m€ for someone to play the role of the 4th defender. How is that a good investment?

He's a decent CB, but not good enough for us.

His release clause was reduced because of him not playing enough with Barça this season, and that shows that he's not good enough because Barça defenders aren't the best TBH

With Thiago it was different. His release clause was reduced because of the same thing, BUT he was injured and that's why he missed a lot of games.

IMO if we want another CB we should go for Glik ...
