Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be keen to strengthen his defence in the summer, with Phil Jones of Blackburn Rovers and Paris Saint-Germain's Mamadou Sakho both on his radar.

According to the People, he may have to extend his search for defensive reinforcements as Roma are lining up a bid for Sagna.

The Serie A club are said to be willing to pay €6.73 million for the right-back and to offer the 28-year-old a lucrative four-year contract.

Should Wenger agree to sell, he could move for Montpellier's Yanga-Mbiwa.

Arsenal scouts have been keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old in recent months as they decide whether to make a bid, reports the News of the World.

The €8.97 million-rated France Under-21s international is versatile enough to operate at right-back and provide cover for central defenders Thomas Vermaelen and Johan Djourou.

Yanga-Mbiwa, who has already played more than 140 times for Montpellier, is also believed to be a target for Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

That's the kind of "name" we need at Bayern  maybe that would be our lucky charm

Arsenal and Newcastle are interested in Yanga-Mbiwa, who is considered one of the biggest defensive talents in France.

Young talents brought from other clubs always fail at FCB. It's a mystery!
1. Breno, 2.Schlaudraff, 3.Baumjohann, 4. J.E Sosa, 5. Petersen, 6. Dos Santos, 7. Hashemian, and others who I cannot remember...

This is a myth. Yanga-Mbiwa turns 23 years old next month. If we get him in summer, he will be the same age as Luiz Gustavo when we bought him, and only a year younger than the ages of Gomez and Ribery when we bought either of them. All three are important first team players now.

PS: Schlaudraff was 24 when we bought him and Hashemian was 28 years old, so they were not "young talents".

Kroos was a talent we bought.
He's our best talent now
Even Alaba was bought from Vienna.
He's the revelation of this season
So, the myth does not hold to all

Kroos was considered the best talent of his age,
and Alab the biggest talent from Austria in decades.

Not saying i disagree with you but you examples/arguments aren't valid as Mbiwa is in a completely different situation than those two.

What ramsej84 said was that young talents brought from other clubs always fail at FCB
Just gave instances to show some exceptions. But true. This guy isnt in a situation as Kroos and Alaba were. I think even Sagnol was bought at the same age as this guy

Of all those young talents, how many of them genuinely looked good? They were mid table players at best, and breno, jeez, the guy played like 20 games for sao paulo and looked utter crap.

Petersen has potential, he looks to have good instinct, and I know he hasn't had much time at Bayern, but the times he has come on, his missed when its been easier to score - should go on loan.

The pressure is immense at Bayern and a bad game means the knives come out pretty quick which few players tend to recover from - This guy could be decent but I would seriously question his thinking "oh bayern are nice but omfg i'm wetting myself for newcastle or liverpool...etc" just lol.

he's got a hardon for the easier northern girls and the clubs retarded wage structures - HERE TAKE MY MONEY!
