Laurent Koscielny

Postby MUTU » Wed Apr 10, 2013 3:50 pm

According to The Week, FC Bayern are after Arsenal's 27 year old defender Laurent Koscielny. Looks a bit of a random rumour at this point.

He's no upgrade on our current rotation CBs. He's a decent defender, but he's hot-headed and loses concentration a lot. It's like talking about Jerome Boateng.

I think Boateng is much better than Koscielny, although of course I've seen the former play much more.

I can assure you Boa is much better. IMO, he'll even win in a 'Who's more card-prone out of two' poll.

I'd say they are both on par.

I have no idea about Jerome Boateng, but Koscielny is very good against skilful players but weaker against physical strikers. I think he'll do better in Bundesliga than he does in the EPL, but I dont see Arsenal selling him at this point. We are already a defender short and with Squillaci and Djourou(thankfully) likely to depart in the summer, I see us buying, not selling in this department. Rumour at best.

Maybe Koscienly is a replacement for DVB.

Indeed, signing Koscielny makes absolutely zero sense unless we sell Boateng and I don't see the benefit of such a deal at all.

There's room for one excellent, international class RCB in our squad. Everything else doesn't make a lot of sense.

Not better than Boateng ... slow .... what am I reading? This guy is miles better than boateng . Not only that but hes probably the fastest cb in the premier league along with David Luiz . Second fastest player at Arsenal over 40m behind Theo Walcott. Go see what Arsenal fans think of this guy . Absolutely phenomenal cb - be lucky to buy him . Very much doubt Arsenal would sell though .
