Coman stays; from Kicker:

"Kingsley Coman is an important building block for the future of our team, so we decided to take the option," said Bayern's Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in a mean of the club on Thursday. "Kingsley is a hopeful player with a big one We are convinced that he will help us in the coming years. "
Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti had already made it clear on Friday: "He has had a lot of problems, now he's fit and in good shape, the idea is that he will be here next season." The Bavarians had until the end of April to draw the purchase option agreed with Juventus. This should be at 21 million euros.

Thing is, that sum is peanuts in today's crazy market and he is young enough to have a resale value even in 1-2 years if things don't completely develop for him here.

It was always crazy to refute the option.

If him and Renato keep getting benched then I really don't understand what we're doing here and I'm not talking about playing in the big games, I'm fine with that but they should make at least 12 appearances as starter and 7-8 as serious subs. The Pokal games must be only for the likes of Coman to show what they've got, the games against low-table teams too.

They need to feel part of the team, useful and definitely Carlo's treatment this year towards them was garbage.

This move seems somewhat anxiety-ridden at this very point, maybe the board finaly realized that bringing the young blood to fill obvious gaping holes in our ageing ranks is the primary goal now - and Coman was the nearest target around. Perhaps it is a good decision - only time will tell - but the pressure beneath the decision is evident and, what I don't like in the whole story - it presents itself with a faint signal that Bayern is still a bit reluctant to delve deeper into the market, and would rather play safe as long as it is sustainable.

Playing safe has its merits, and I am all for youngster empire-building business, but an overly cautious philosophy can hurt us big time if practised for too long. I believe that right now players yearn for kind of momentum that is gained by riskier approach - pump cash, bring few established players, respectfuly bid a farewell to whomever needs to leave - and move on.

Yep, Vidal underperformed for a while because of Carlo's tactics, in a period, our all team suffered.

What counts if we say that we have problems in midfield? Verratti is impossible to get.

Regarding on young talent signings, let's develop Sanches and Coman first before adding new ones.

@ThiagoRises, you don't seem to rate this guy that much but it seems that your mentor thinks otherwise...

With this kind of money we can buy Lemar, or get 70% of Silva transfer which is amazing, and could mean that we'd be able to get two major Wing reinforcements by sending off two minor in the names of Costa and Coman.

Wow. Finaly we can sell one of our players for a "modern" price. Even though I'm not that satisfied with selling him, as he is someone who has been patient and satisfied with the Minutes he git, but we should take the money and finaly spend big.

Hopefully Guardiola still wants Bernat for his team too.

Pep needs at least 2FB's, GK, CB and CM before a winger. Spending 60 m euros for Coman doesn't make sense to me from their perspective.Yep, let's hope he can make at least 40 m euros offer for Bernat.

We just got him for 21 mil, nobody is stupid enough to overpay for him by that much, especially when you can buy players who have been in better shape, for a similar price.

For 21 mil this is a good deal. If we get a world class winger, I think we should be fine giving Coman one more year. He hasn't been bad at all and is still very young. He certainly has potential, we just need to see his workrate and attitude now.

He paid 20 m euros for 34 years old Barcelona goalie and considering the market prices in PL, l would even consider 40 m euros low for Bernat.

It would be great for us, but nobody would pay more than 15m Euros for Bernat...not even Pep.
