So? Is that money different?

I can talk all I want, but you want to believe this is a shit deal, and nothing I say can convince you otherwise. So be pessimistic about it, that's your prerogative. In the meantime, I have seen plenty City fans (amongst others) being frustrated that we got him so 'cheap'.

Just to do us all a favour: don't follow 'transfermarkt' price tags, they're bullshit and we all know it.

What makes you think we can't resell Coman with a profit? Can't be optimistic for a Juve bencher, and be so pessimistic for a Bayern one, while they're both in similar circumstances. Unless you deliberately want to be.

Benatia and Coman are separate deals... laughing their way to the bank stands... they got 27M for a player estimated at 3.5M at the time they loaned him to us.

Anyone who would pay anything more than 30M for Coman today is a sheikh or oligarch.

And they practically spent a similar amount on Pjaca, someone at the exact same level who serves the exact same purpose as Coman would have, essentially replacing him. So no, they're not laughing on this one.

Still paid like 10M less for him...

I prefer to be Juve on this case... sorry.

They probably think Sane was cheap too...

It was a good deal, we had the choice to return him but we obviously have faith in him... if he turns to be Ribery's heir for 27M then I won't complain.

I don't see how a €5m difference could make you this salty especially when Pjaca isn't even better. I know you don't like Coman but between €28m for him and €23m for Pjaca literally no one would care really. Marginal stuff.

If we didn't have Coman, maybe we could've signed Dembele for 15M... anyway, what is done is done. The board seem to have a lot of faith in him, let's see how it turns out. 27M is not cheap as some try to make it look like, I know our board doesn't consider it cheap either.

Coman is not the problem, he is a big talent and very young player. The problem is Costa, Ribery and, to lesser extent, Robben.

Coman and sanches at the left would be the ideal

I can promise you it's not Coman that prevented us from signing Dembele. That's Ribery.
Dembele went to BvB because they could offer him regular playing time. We couldn't offer that, Coman or no Coman.
Seeing as we've already amortized the loan fee over the course of the first two years, we're left with ~21m over the next three seasons. An amortized fee of €7m+wage per season is cheap as chips for us, it's really not a problem at all.

Ribery is still better than Coman... like it or not.

That's fine and all; nobody said he wasn't, but that's not really relevant at all to the discussion at hand either, so......

Like aterford said, Ribery is not in competition with Coman. Having Ribery blocks the purchase of a star or a top talent who is not willing to be at the bench most of the time. Costa does the same. Coman doesn't.

Coman is not bought to be a backup but to fill the shoes one of Robbery... 3 year contract vs 1 year contracts... who stands more in the way of new signings? Whatever...

Yeah, but he is not expected to be THE starter RIGHT NOW. Ribery expects to start, and as long as we have Carlo, he will. Coman expects to be given a chance to prove himself (which means he is not expected to have an assured place in the X11).

Ribery was criticized publicly by Carlo... even if his worst moments were better than CoCo's this year. If he's better than Robbery, he'll play... bring someone better, I highly doubt that Carlo wouldn't play him more or even drop Robbery completely maybe... he's not that stupid to risk his job just to respect Robbery.
