He's destined to play for Barca, so it's up to Bayern to save him from that fate... :P

Wrong thread? You meant Kimmich, right?

BVB wouldn't sell Weigl to us.

No I meant Weigl. He's the perfect deep-lying playmaker. We haven't seen Kimmich perform in Alonso's role enough to make a judgement that he's a good replacement for him, we all assume or hope.. We've seen him in other positions to say he can replace Lahm or play in central midfield but as the regista, we haven't seen him. We've seen enough of Weigl on the other hand and so have Barcelona and Manchester City apparently. We could've gotten him if we really really wanted him, they sold us Hummels when they realized fighting it would be futile because the player wanted.

City might throw the kitchen sink at him and offer him a starting position instead of being Busquets' back up.. We'll see.

Additionally, I'm pretty sure Weigl himself has said that he doesn't want to play for Bayern/is glad he ended up at 1860 instead.
Of course talk is talk but I don't ever see this happening. As I've said in this thread and others IMO Kimmich is better in pretty much every way.
Look at Weigl this year. He has "came back to earth" in a big way. Any time a team presses him he has a disaster of a game. Needs to learn how to cope quickly.

l don't think he is ideal player for us considering we have to play with double pivot. it's pretty clear Bayern sees Kimmich as future Lahm. Same goes for Germany NT.

if we stick to 4-3-3, it's a different story though.

Julian is one of the most interesting young footballers in Europe. Apart from Juve, Real and Barca, Man City are also gearing up interest in him.
