Draxler is not a bad option at Bayern. His last two games with the Mannschaft were really good. I don't think he would be worse with us. If anything he could play even better as he knows some of our players which means better chemistry in the gameplay.

I'm starting to come around on Draxler. I don't think he's absolute top class - not the same category as guys like Neymar, Hazard, Sanchez, etc, but he's no slouch either.
I do wish we'd spend more money, but at the same time we have to acknowledge that a willingness to spend more money doesn't always equate with other teams' willingness to accept said money. And so we have to ask: How many top class wingers are realistically available? Even *if* we were to pony up for a player like Hazard or someone, at what price would Chelsea realistically sell?
The numbers being thrown around for Draxler are still pretty reasonable in this market. We must accept that we're not going to sign ANYONE who is as good or better than peak Robben/Ribery (because frankly, I don't think there's such a player active in the sport today...maaaaaybe Neymar. Maybe. But he's untouchable for us.) And so it follows that any signing at winger will necessarily be a downgrade, but that doesn't mean they're a poor player. We absolutely won't be able to do better than Draxler for €40m. Even if we are willing to double that and spend €80m...as I said, who is *realistically* available?

I don't know anything regarding the current climate but he adopted very well when he arrived there in January. Was always excellent in the big games and there was talk about him providing competition and finally bringing the best out of Di Maria too. Seemed to get along with the French players as well, there was a video of him talking after the Barca game where he seemed to enjoy their company. He speaks French, learned a bit in school he said, so that helps.

I don't know now with Neymar or Mbappe if the situation changed.

thanks, but even when he did well (which wasn't always) for them I didn't get the impresh that he's 'one of the guys', but maybe that just looks like it

so there's no 'out' psg fans here?

I didn't watch him every game for PSG but he played well whenever I saw him and the written articles and reviews were extremely positive. In many ways it was the best and most consistent stretch of form he has shown in his career.

Rumor mongering. Here's the actual article, google translated from French:

Draxler successor of Ribery?
In a bid to rejuvenate its workforce, Bayern Munich eyeing Julian Draxler, the middle PSG. The latter would come to replace Franck Ribery, at the end of the contract in eight months.

Although they do not yet know the identity of their future coach, the leaders of Bayern Munich are already looking into the recruitment of next summer. They are mainly aimed at continuing the rejuvenation of an aging workforce. At the end of the contract in eight months, Franck Ribéry could not be offered a new extension. " The question is whether Franck represents the future of our club or whether it is better to recruit a new player, " said the president, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge . To succeed the French, Bayern eyeing Julian Draxler , a track confirmed by Hasan Salihamidzic , the sports director. "His profile is what we are looking for . " But this can not be done before the end of the season, as the Parisian would not qualify League champions early 2018. [source]

You might notice the lack of any sources other than a misinterpretation of a vague statement Salihamidzic made and rampant speculation.

The good thing about Draxler is that because he has been a bench warmer at PSG his price tag hasn't gone up significantly but he seems to be a much better player now than when he left Wolfsburg.

As what he can bring to Bayern: versatility, he can operate on the left wing and also centrally behind the striker or as a false 9.

Great timing if we can sign Draxler next summer. Would be great to add him as Ribery's replacement. Will be interesting to see the price tag. PSG are desperate to sell in order to avoid UEFA financial fair play so maybe they will settle for less then they bought him for.
