This signing seems perfect for Bayern! Worst case scenario he doesnt live up to the hype and becomes a Contento 2.0 which isnt a bad deal and best case he challenges Alaba and Bayern have two of the best LBs in the world. Also he can also slot in to LW if Shaqiri leaves and Ribs is injured. Bayern literally cant lose with this transfer!

I think this is a GREAT transfer for us. He is on a totally different level from Diego Contento or Pranjic. Fast, skilled, young, talented... he used to play LM like Jordi Alba and then he got relegated to the left back position.

He had only 1 year left on his contract, so we bought him for just 10M. And this proves that we're going to play 3-4-3 next season :)

10M is cheap nowadays, and if he is no FCB quality, they can probably sell him next year for 6M and lose 4M, that's not a big risk, like risks that fans are demanding: going after overpriced players, big names. I'm more for this kind of investments, there must be at least 100000 players waiting for the opportunity to be 'Alaba'.

Typical Bayern transfer. Young, talented, and doesn't cost the Earth. Willy Sagnol comes to mind.

Someone said earlier that Arsenal's deal of Debuchy(if and when completed) would be a smarter move. I can only laugh at this. Just age difference tells you which one is better. Debuchy isn't that good, error and card prone. Take that this might turn out to be brilliant move.

Next, people are wishing for 3-4-3. We'll see.

I'd rather take a different approach at this and just hope that maybe Sammer/Pep have plans to move Alaba at LW in future with Ribery aging and fading in recent months and Shaqiri very liikely to leave us. Bernat at LB and Alaba at LW. That would be tasty. Alaba's pace and intellegence and work rate could probably make him a devastating winger. Pep, just try it out! [-o< [-o< [-o<

Alaba is the closest thing we have to a Schweini replacement with Kroos's likely departure. So I hope this signing turns out great, it's always a pleasure to watch Alaba play CMF, I hope we won't make him a left footed left winger though...

What's the problem with him being Spanish? Is there any promising German LWB? #-o

May I remind you that Manchester United just splashed 3x more money on Shaw? Bernat has more experience and has more promise than him.

There's no problem with him being Spanish: this is a great transfer. Just an (obviously failed) attempt at humour on my part.

Add an emoticon next time. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish sarcasm and just general dislike for Pep and Spain here.

I won't watch any videos of him. I'll only judge him based on his performance in our team. I hope he adds something.

Good luck, Bernat. You're a Bayern soldier now, be proud and responsible. :)

Pep is turning this team into Barcelona, don't you all see it? Why change everything and bring in only SPANISH players. PEP OUT! /sarcasm

I've taken a liking to this lad quite quickly. Seems very down to earth and eager to succeed. Really liking his attitude and I hope he does well for us.
