Unless he wants to leave I don't see a point on selling him. He is more than decent backup. It is not like you need 2 Alaba for left back.

If he wants to leave, let him leave but otherwise he should stay.

Always nice to see our players speak german.

Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

Another reason why we definitely should keep Bernat

He's as decent a backup as they come. On top of that he's effective offensively taking on defenders, and could be played as a sort of winger in a tight situation.

And he never gives anyone any sh*t. Always a professional, a bit like Martinez in attitude, with whom I also think he has a good relationship with.

AND gives room for Alaba to play in midfield from time to time :P

According to AS (relied by Skysports), Guardiola still wants Bernat.

FWIW: Not sure if KHR considers Bernat one of our best players but he recently said this: "We will keep all our best players here and not allow anyone to leave. We have the same goals as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Juventus and we need our best players to achieve those goals. Money is not important."

He's excellent when going forward if he could improve defensively he'd be a top LB. If he wants to leave, nothing less than 35m.

If he has the opportunity to be starter in Manchester City, you can't keep him indefinitly as a sub in Bayern.

But if Bayern agreed to let him go, they have to ask for €30M minimum. And of course Bayern will need another good back-up for Alaba.

I think Bernat needs to start now. Let Alaba compete a little for his LB spot. It seems he might've become a little too complacent. Whereas Bernat has taken his opportunities this season and looked good doing so.

Exactly, I think he makes some sort of improvement. If they want him, pay us.

Until Arsenal I'd place Alaba to the bench to get some "fresh air" because he is playing like our 2nd choice LB should while I'd reward Bernat's work and patience with 3 or 4 consecutive starts keep him hot & happy at the same time!

Alaba definitely needs some heat & feel some pressure on his position as a wake up call, seems indeed too relaxed.

I dont know...even with 35m, id rather keep him. Hes doing good; we dont need the money; we will have a hard time finding a replacement; and we can always play Alaba in midfield sometimes.

Yup, no reason to sell unless he's unhappy and requests a move, TBH (and even then it's not imperative)
