And a LOT cheaper on the books than Götze. He makes less than half of what Götze while he was at Bayern.

So, in other words everyone who wants Bernat out because he thinks he is not quality player wants Marcelo or Rodriguez on bench? #facklogic

Why nobody didn't complain instead was very happy with Bernat's first year(including me) just because when he was asked to play he was decent to brilliant in many games after that very promising year indeed he is crap either looks like lost in the space in many cases at defense or he passes the ball to nowhere when he is under pressure, offensively you can hardly call him a threat but it's not a problem, I can't ask from my bench LB to be world class both offense & defense but at least don't act like a cone defensively most of the times.

@Roonzil
I'd gladly have Benko over Bernat at bench, he would probably have the same problems but at least he is very young and potentially he can become better and better.Bernat became worse or at best he stayed the same.
IMO when you have such a world class defender like Alaba, an undisputed starter the best match is to find an experienced player over 30-y as a backup like Clichy,Maxwell or Fuchs.

I believe his contract is until 2019?

He is a perfect backup! but the question arises, is he too good for just backup? Probably. As long as a bit of rotation occurs and according to each players belief on how sitting on the bench is like, will determine if he wants to leave or not? With this stacked team I find it awesome to have Rafihna and Bernat as backup, but if that is not for them then maybe try out more youngins.

But Im gonna assume that next year we are planning on replacement for Lahm, or if he still has it then in 2 years.

In the end our team is so darn stacked with greatness, what do we actually need, besides better tactics and better working together.... not much

This is how I see Bernat since he joined Bayern.

At start he had a decent level for a left-back back-up ... I really liked his first month, way better than Contento.

But more the time passed ... more his level decreased... it's obvious.

Against Rostov he came into the game with a really great level. And I didn't see him play like that for more than one year.

Let's just hope his next game (today ?) will be the same.

But if Manchester City really propose 20/25M€ for him, Bayern shouldn't hesitate...

With such money we could buy a better player than him.

Look at Dortmund who took Guerreiro for 13M€ or Juve with Sandro for 22M€...
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

Bernat played more than he should've... he was good when we really needed him. Bernat is more than OK for a backup.

Exactly. Some people dislike him because he ended up being a starter for long periods but as a backup it'll be very hard to find someone better.

Bernat has looked much better this year than last year IMHO. (admittedly, small sample size thus far)

Bernat is having a good season so far, and it will be very difficult to find a better backup for Alaba. Not to mention that he's still young and versatile enough to play anywhere on the left side. I don't think we should make the mistake of letting him go, unless we get a very tempting offer.

This is the problem, right here. Alaba is 100% without a doubt our starter at LB. People always harp on about Bernat being "Bayern quality" (who the heck even knows what that means anymore), but the fact of the matter is there are very, VERY few players who meet that standard of "Bayern quality" who are also willing to sit on the bench in 90% of games.

Probably another BS.

Selling Bernat and buying Henrichs would be a dreamy move.

Regarding Bernat, yes he is doing well offensively, however his defending is still at amaetur level.

Lol Alaba hasn't been that different defensively either.

If Pep wants Bernat, let him offer at least 35 and then we can look into Heinrichs
