If I were Bayern (with my vast knowledge of football  ), I would be looking for either younger players (15-16 years old) who don't have as much pressure or 18-20 year olds who are more developed and play in the top flight.

If Eggestein was the youngest player to score 10 goals in the Bundesliga, I'm sure this thread would be even more filled with praise than the Dembele thread.
You think people don't want german players? People are considering €45M for Sané a steal. Maybe you should reconsider your claim.

Yeah seriously have you not seen me overhype Leroy Sanè? It's almost embarrassing

First of all this kid isn't even close to as talented as Dembele and all you have to do is watch the tape to figure that out, there isn't any type of bias in that...

But... reading the Dembele thread one might think that he is reading the thread of the biggest star ever.

some posts

1Seems like a super talented kid, wouldn't mind him developing at Bayern with some of the aging stars, hopefully we can convince him to join with the likes of Coman getting playing time.

2Mew two, he seems to be something exceptional, he doesnt seem like the other kids, he has that idk how to put it, but let's say aweless display something like our Ribery , much confidence for a player of his age and isn't scared of any defenders .

3This guy is just incredible !
He's playing right now against Marseille and already scored a goal, he's now involved in 8 of his team's last 12 goals. And bear in mind that he's playing the first pro season of his career

Dembele plays top flight football, Eggestein doesn't. Dembele plays against international defenders on a weekly basis, Eggestein plays against kids who are probably not even sure they want to play as defenders.

I've had it with us hyping every German talent who isn't from Schalke. Our youth system sucks so why the hell should the same people in charge be trusted to scout. Kurt, Wegkamp, Görtler all sucked. The last player to truly succeed from being brought in as a talent was Alaba, and surprise surprise he's not German. Someone who's now in a similar projection is Hojbjerg and oh look, he's not German either. Kimmich has played with Leipzig so he was more of a budding star than a youth talent, and even so he wasn't even close to being the most hyped in Germany.

I'd be infinitely more impressed if Eggestein has played for the first team this season. I've seen his statistics with the U-19 and it looks very impressive indeed, but for all we know it could mean nothing.

Seriously if he's good then all for it but he's not even playing top flight football? I'm even wary of putting so much expectation on Kimmich's shoulders.

There's no reason to hype these young kids as the talent of the century. Let them prove themselves without so much pressure.

I'm also annoyed by how whenever a foreign player is rated higher than a german player, some specific people always come out to say that we don't like german players.
Of course german players are important, that's why I really want us to get Gündogan. But the player's profile is more important. Currently, I don't see many interesting german players around.
Not saying Eggestein is not good enough, but I'm not so keen (yet) on another 17 year old "talent of the century" who hasn't even played top flight football.

I say we get Dahoud in a few years.

Waiting for Ramsej to say he's not German

personally, it doesnt bother me.... I'll always take a gamble on young German talent (or young talent in general)

Sinan Kurt cost what, like 1-2 million euros? thats buttwipe money to Bayern

same for guys like Kimmich and Coman.... sure they paid more for them than they did Kurt, but still not any significant money.... but those guys are already worth well over what Bayern paid to get them

I'm always for gambling on young talent... you'll hit and miss on them, but when you do hit, it'll end up in big profit, cancelling out the misses

I thought it was less..... even so.... that doesnt bother me at all.... its a gamble worth taking

what did we pay for Kimmich? like 6 or 7 million euros? what his value now?

what did we pay for Coman? I think 7 million euros for a 2 year loan? with the option to buy him at like 1/2 of what Juve could probably get for him on the open market now

I'd continue to gamble on young, unproven talent.... because at the end of the day, they're going to make more of a profit from those signings than losses.... even if you miss on 2 out of every 3 guys

2 out of 3? More like 9 out of 10.
Kimmich and Coman are the first young players since a long time that look promising.
