British press is pathetic... they think that the PL is the holy grail for all football players.

Time to re-post this from May 2014;

Bayernbazi wrote:Breaking News.
Since Manchester United is keen to get most FC Bayern players, today the Glazers have announced their decision to buy the whole FC Bayern Munich club instead. In their statement the Glazers said that this move will make it easier for them to mix and match at their leisure and from the merger a new club shall be formed with the name of Manern Unich, with Louis Van Gaal as head coach, assisted by Pep Guardiola. The team will play its home games at Old Trafford and sometimes at the Allianz Arena.

I am expecting this on the Daily Mirror any day now.

Whilst I agree that the self-perception of the BPL combined with the money from Sky and the hype from the Engish press makes for a slightly grating brand of evangelism about the 'best league in the world', I think you're being harsh on the actual football itself.
England's spectacular failures abroad both in Club and International form shouldn't overshadow a genuinely fun league to watch.
Also, Chelsea does alright in Europe, so it's not something that applies universally.

Manchester United just want to buy our whole team this summer... :D

"One major obstacle for a move however could be the defender's girlfriend, who is against the move, according to The Daily Star.
The Star reports that Sherin Senler, the mother of Boateng's twin children, was miserable in Manchester four years ago when he was at City."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Yeah, right, the defender won't move because his ex-girlfriend, the one who wrongly accused him of domestic violence in a desperate bid to take the kids, doesn't want to live in Manchester. You'd think they'd do a couple of minutes of research before spinning up a fake rumour.

Maybe he has another girlfriend already ? :P

It is their attitude which is unacceptable not the football. I have a friend from Tottenham and sometimes (not often) will enjoy watching one of their matches.

One of the world's best defenders, a regular starter for a team that's been in four consecutive CL semifinals and a coach-favorite, wants to go to a club that has to win in a play-off round to join CL but the only thing on earth stopping him is the fact that his ex-girlfriend doesn't like the weather in Manchester.
Totally believable.

Also called Sherin Senler and already mothered him twins? That would be weird. :)

He deserves it. He has always stated how proud he is to be playing for Bayern - the biggest club in the world - and I think he will be around for many more years. Might get the captain armband in a couple of years.

He'd be a good candidate for captain, but as long as Neuer is around I can't see that happening here, or in the NT.

I don't think so. He likes picking fights over nothing too much.
