Dambun, we have a 20% chance of facing Man City only if they finish 4th. But now they've a real chance for finishing 3rd.

Very very good signing IMO.... (if for a good price)

The only worrying thing is that it won't be good, if we face ManCity.... because their strikers will know his weaknesses....

First off the odds of Bayern playing Man City in the CL qualifying round are slim and even if we did happen by chance to get them in a two legged affair, Tevez is most likely gone this summer and Balotelli is too unrational to know anybodys weakness so that is the last thing I would be worried about at this time.

It's a 20% chance according to Mutu....

Only if Manchester City end up 4th. The good news is that Arsenal lost to Aston Villa yesterday, and the ball is in Man City's court now. If they win their next 2 matches, they will qualify directly and Arsenal will go to the qualifiers. The great thing about Arsenal being in the qualifiers is that, like FC Bayern, they would be seeded, and therefore would have no chance of being drawn against us.

This all ties in with this transfer. Man City now believe they will go directly to the CL, and aren't scared of strengthening a potential opponent in the qualifiers (FC Bayern) by selling Boateng. So, in a very indirect way, Aston Villa may have helped us move closer to signing Jerome Boateng.

Still not convinced about him, but hopefully he will shut me up.

Same here .... I know he is a very good CB but I doubt that Boateng-Badstuber will work especially against the big boys... hopefully I'm also wrong :D

Boateng isn't TOO slow, so at least that's a good thing when playing alongside Badstuber, I guess.

He is returning from a knee injury. Just a bit skeptical about him.

[-o< Let's pray for that

I hope we get another CB, someone with more experience. We already know very well what means having a young defense, unless our board is making long-term plans and sticking with Badstuber, Gustavo and Boateng.

I think so, perhaps Vidal comes to play as midfielder, and L Guztavo comes back to the CB spot, so we could have this front line: Boateng/L Guztavo and Schweini/Vidal. The bench would be for Badstuber/Van Buyten and Kroos/Tymo.

What if Jupp is planning to use him as RB ? and Lahm as LB ?

either way he is a good signing...

Nerlinger showed some good thinking when he decided to lose some players we dont need in the future
