Robben was Real Madrid's best player. The problem was that he was injured too frequently. But he was always playing when fit.
On the contrary, Boateng is almost always fit, but does not always play for Manchester City.
Also, Manchester City are no Real Madrid.

We have world class players in every position except for defence. Boateng is definitely not the Robben-equivalent to central defence, probably more like the Altintop-equivalent.

How many were in central defence? How good is Germany's defence considered?

Any idea whether we want him as CB or LB/RB?

I hope it's as CB. I haven't seen him play as CB a lot but I don't like him as a fullback.

ManCity is a stupid club and Mancini is an awful coach. They have one of the best squads in the world but they manage to play really bad and suck

Even Dzeko is not a starter there while Balotelli plays a lot of games. Even David Silva wasn't a starter in his first months there.

They have a lot of good defenders and Boateng had some trouble with injuries, that's why he is not a starter.

Boateng could be great for Bayern because he is German and he was in Germany's U21 squad with Neuer and some other players. I think that having a good partnership in our defense is very important, and we will have Neuer, Badstuber, Lahm and Boateng who played for Germany in the World Cup

I would buy Kompany, Kolarov even Zabaleta before Boateng. I wouldn't mind if he comes as a sub though, he had a worse season than Badstuber..

He is surely better than Badstuber in every defensive position.

Only faster. Besides, appart from not having minutes, he got injuried a couple of times this season. What we really don't need are more injury prone players.

So far i know he can play CB and RB and do it well on both.

Not a TOP one for me but a decent versalite player that can allow us to try some moves in defense.

We are strugling for a LB having a top one playing RB.

The Daily Fail links us with a 15 million STERLING swoop for Boateng

Daily Fail wrote:Bayern Munich are ready to follow up their interest in Manchester City's Jerome Boateng with a £15million offer for the Germany defender.

Sportsmail revealed Bayern's interest earlier this year but Boateng's agent Jorg Neubauer insisted only last week that no deal had been discussed.

However, Bayern are drawing up transfer plans to bring in top German talent alongside goalkeeeper Manuel Neuer from Schalke and want Boateng - instead of former target Gregory van der Wiel of Ajax - to cover at right back and play centre half.

Boateng, 22, arrived at City with a big reputation but has struggled with niggling injuries.
