Jefferson Farfán

Reports Say that Bayern Are After Eljero Elia or Jefferson Farfan to be the Back up of ROBBERY next season
===========
I doubt that this will happen

he is Schalkes Best , they wont give us their best field player after giving us their best player, GK and Captain Manuel neuer

also they want us to stop chasing Reus to make their other wing as strong , not to replace Farfan

(that would be idiotic, they ask us to stop following Reus , and they give us farfan!!)

Elia is a better option IMO.

i prefer elia- a winger whose best position is left is more necessary for us than a right winger

not gonna happen anyways.... Farfan was on the verge of leaving Schalke because he wanted to be a STARTER in a BIGGER team from his point of view... so its certain that he won't accept being a backup for Robbery especially when he thinks he is at the same level as them ...

I love this deal just to piss off Schalke again and again.

Seriously though, Reus is a far, FAR better, if more expensive option.

To me it isn't that clear because it really depends on what kind of player you prefer.

On top of that Farfan has his favorite position in the right midfield where Müller is clearly a misfit whereas Reus can be a winger but plays very often through the center at Mönchengladbach.

For me it comes down to the decision between immediate gain for the team with little risk vs. exceptional talent who might need some time to accustom

Good points. I have a feeling that Reus' status as a German international might be a vital bonus for the board, but you'll never know.

Why do the words 'have been offered several times' keep buzzing on my ear every time I remotely consider this Peruvian coming?
God, are you there? Shut up son, Gómez is scoring!

I would like to sign Farfan... Reus is a huge potential surely, but Farfan is way more beneficial over the next couple of seasons... We currently possess a squad that is capable of dominating Europe with a couple of more good signing like Farfan... in a couple of years we might not have the same force... so short-term solutions aren't that bad after all...

Well I think that Reus is better, but bringing Farfan would be great. As mentioned he'll be almost free and he is proven. We know that he's capable of playing at the highest level, he's shown that with Schalke. He makes a big difference there. I do not think that Reus would fail under pressure, but we can't know for sure. He's never even managed a game for the NT so far.

Besides, our interest in Goetze is genuine. There is no point in signing Reus if we intend to bring Goetze at some point.

I prefer Farfan to Reus but Shaqiri is better than both.

The main question is financial. Farfan would come free in the summer and maybe we could land him on a dramatically reduced fee in the winter. Reus, it seems from the press, has a 18 mil release clause this season, which will go down in the future. Götze would definitely be the most expensive purchase for Bayern, at the cheapest around 30 million euros. As long as Robbery and Müller are still here, I have a hard time believing that the board would shell out so much money for the latter, so Farfan might be a feasible option. A lot of it depends on Robben's fitness.
