"One of" - not
I was talking about ups and downs... Even Thiago has those... Javi may not be as talented as others, but he's one of few able to play on a constant high level...

I know you did... And please stop using that annoying ";)".

With all those ups and downs + his physical problems I definatly wouldn't consider him to be one of our most reliable.

He used to boss the midfield (actually the whole pitch) together with #31

Yeah, "used to". Just like Müller used to boss the right wing.
Fact is, Carlo hasn't played him in midfield once and Pep hasn't much more either.

Can't help it, well, I got that one

He's injured a lot, true... So was Thiago, so are Robben and Ribéry... Whom we also trust, so much that we have no alternatives at all except Coman...

Fact is, Carlo hasn't played him in midfield once and Pep hasn't much more either.

Carlo had space for him as centerback (because Boateng was injured) and almost none as midfielder so he played him as centerback...
A lot like Kimmich who was not used as fullback because the role was covered by Lahm and Rafinha and so was used in midfield...

Next season Kimmich will be a starter as fullback and Javi will be in the midfield rotation (and used as centerback if needed but being the fourth choice there is likely he will found more playtime as midfielder)

A lot of you seem to think that Javi's down in the pecking order for reasons I don't understand. If any one of our defenders would leave, I'm willing to bet Boateng will be the first to go.

If a good offer comes along the lines of 60m, I don't think it would be a bad idea to sell and fund the transfer of more-needed attacking reinforcements. Javi has been very good for us, and had a decent last season. However, he has his deficiencies when played as a CB at the highest levels, and there are no indications whatsoever that he'll be played in midfield again like he did in 2013. That is not to mention his frequent injuries throughout a season. He's a very likeable player for us, and has played an instrumental role in us winning the treble back in 2013, but hasn't really been world-class after being switched back to CB and been cemented there by both Pep and Carlo.

The thing is Bayern dont need to sell Javi to fund any attacking signing.

That's right, they do not "need" to sell him, but it'll make it easier for them to break the transfer record when they make a record sale. We're always hearing about our willingness to even pay 100m for a player if needed, but that has not yet materialized even remotely. We haven't even approached the 60m purchase price, which is somehow considered the average price of a top player nowadays. If a big fund comes in, along with our budget, we can go for two top-level players.

Like bastos said, except if City accept a swap with Sané there is no way this happen.

Martinez sold isn't the worse thing that could happen to Bayern. But we still need him.

But it is expected that someone will be disappointed to be fourth choice. Süle is way ahead of Badstuber in recent years and Javi in midfield does not seem to be a possibility.

I can see us selling Javi and getting some late 20s decent CB. Obviously as far as quality is concerned it would be best not to.

Why isn't Javi an option for MF? I think it's not only desirable, but almost required. Rudy as his backup. Tolisso as vice Vidal and Thiago (or maybe Vidal as vice Tolisso ;). Renato on loan to Hoffenheim alongside Gnabry.

Ancelotti and the board said more than once who Javi will go back in midfield next season and I am merely following that. I do not think they will sell either Javi or Boa because both are needed in the team (and Javi will be obviously the first player called to cover eventual absences of the center backs)

Bild says there is no chance he gets sold.

What a relief, should put these stupid rumors to bed.

And a no-brainer too. Would have been quite unlike Bayern to sell.
