Jann-Fiete Arp

Postby MUTU » Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:46 am

According to rumours from the Italian press , FC Bayern are after Hamburg's 17 year old striker Jann-Fiete Arp, who was born in the year 2000. [source]

Arp's agent claimed he knows nothing about Bayern's alleged interest. [source]

Any big club is after Arp, he is one of the most promising player in German youth football. BVB have also scouted him, and so have english clubs.

I don't know why but I am seeing him looking like #25

Yeah. Although he seems much more physically dominant than #25. Had him at Hamburg in my Football Manager career and wondered why would he have such good attributes/potential so I looked him up on Youtube. The kid seems to have the body of a 20 yo and quite a special sense for finishing. I really hope he'll turn up better than Davie Selke did

l find him more interesting and secure option than the likes of Dolberg. He already scored 2 goals so far in BL. His goal last week were first class.

I think he's the real deal. While he wouldn't come too cheaply, I think he'd still be more affordable than Dolberg and MUCH cheaper than someone like Timo Werner.

Signing players from Dutch league is so risky because of the league's weakness and softness. Even players like Ünal can make difference there. Last season 36 years old Kuyt were making difference.

Werner as lone striker doesn't convince me yet. The only attacking threat is counters with him as lone striker, which will be a big problem for us, if we put him at the centre of our attack. However, l'd not say no to him for rotation role.

Though it's very early to talk about Arp, his development in the next 2 years will be decisive. His potential is a lot higher than the likes of Werner and Dolberg. let's wait and see how he will develop further.

DFB junior team twitter revealed Arp's official twitter account. It has a lot of his personal stuff, mostly music, which will likely be deleted after he becomes famous.

Bad news: this boy hates Bayern.

Young and foolish... :P When he starts thinking about the money he can get at Bayern instead of BVB, he'll change his mind.

Haha. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. FCB have always been popular to hate on, and conversely BvB have kinda been the 'hipster' team to support in recent years. He certainly wouldn't be the first kid to say something "Anti FCB" who ends up playing for us a few years later.

I agree it's not a big deal, but it'd still be regrettable nonetheless.
