Well RM is like a luxury bag. They want to target the upper class market who can give them money while United is more of a working middle class target market. You can see by the location of their tours they have been targeting US market while PL clubs like United, Liverpool, and Arsenal have been doing Asian Tours.

One summer I colaborated with a non profit organization in a country of Africa and there the boys wore jerseys of Real Madrid and Barça.

Before Real Madrid went to Asia but Mourinho changed it.

No offense but those are probably donated clothes (from experience, I volunteered for Red Cross and when we repacked donations for Typhoon Haiyan and the donated clothes from overseas are branded clothes) or replicas (from experience, most fans in third world countries prefer buying replica kits). Africa is not really the type of place where you can find people that will splash 67 Euros to watch a game if they visit Spain or buy authentic merchandise but Americans will.

I wasn't the one that went to Ethiopia. Moimoi did.

Anyway the topic was marketing, and I don't think James will give RM a boost in that regard. Like Bale, his signing will generate buzz but compare that to the upcoming social media shit-storm when Neymar comes back from injury? Apart from Ronaldo, is there any other marketable player in RM? Coz I read before that Oezil's shirt outsold Bale's when they both transferred.

Cristiano is the most, obviously. In Spain Ramos's jerseys are sold so well. Benzema and Bale too. Nowadays I don't know if Casillas sell or not but he sold a few years ago. Other players like Xabi, Modric or Isco have their buyers. The day of Kroos was unveiled at Real Madrid his jerseys were sold out within 2 hours of its release. I don't think either James selling so much at least at the beginning.

The guy is in Madrid today but it doesn't seem he is going to sign a contract. Probably he is going to Monaco and he must stop in Madrid.

This can really help Bayern in hindsight. Go ahead buy him! [-o< If RM doesn't pack the box and run tactic, a midfield trio of Modric, Kroos, and James... Yes please! :P

Surely you can deduce that is a weak midfield defensively? We all know what happened when Xabi was injured last season.

Modric did an excellent saison. Maybe he is some weak in defense but he has some other many qualities and he is basic on the team. Khedira continues will be the best for Real Madrid.

only a few can afford original stuff. i mean, even there united has so many fans even though they probably have never played there. thats a desirable status.

Media reporting as a done deal for a sum around 70M to RM. Good deal for Real Madrid, they didn't have to break another time the record for most expensive signing ever, like they usually do every year, that's cheap according to them.

Toni Kroos's adventure in RM lasted about 3 days. They won't bench a 70M and a 60M signing, but they will probably bench the 30M signing.

Spoiler: show
Toni Kroos
