Also, please tell me where I compared Xavi with Yaya Touré ;)

Seriously, you're a special case. I really don't know why you have to explain that there are different types of players playing the same position to someone that calls himself a football fan.

You don't have to compare them, you tried to make my comparison between Vidal and Gundogan irrelevant by saying "it's like comparing Xavi and Toure" [-X

Also, bringing Messi and Muller into this? Really? REALLY?

Yes, REALLY REALLY.
Otherwise you wouldn't get the point, but to be fair, you still don't seem to get it.

Well Bastos is right too. Vidal, Thiago and Gündogan all would compete for the same 2 spots. They are all players for the same position but with different profiles. Bastos is also probably true if he meant that Gündogans most direct competition would actually be Thiago. But still 3 WC players + Xabi + Kimmich (not even counting Rode) for 2 positions is too much. The 3 WC players by themselves all deserve to start. Not to mention Götze would have had to leave, because he too is (partial) competitor for the three of them.

We don't know how Ancelotti plans.
If he plans with a 3-man-midfield we definatly need another world class player.
Rode will most likely leave and Götze aswell, so they're pretty irelevant.

Well... We were talking about this season, not next. We'll have to wait and see about that. I suspect he will want a 433, but I don't think that's the right approach to our squad, so we will have to wait and see what Carlo decides to do.

Yeah, but all this discussion begun with an article stating that "Pep wanted Gündogan but Bayern refused" not that "Ancelotti wants Gündogan but Bayern refuses" ;)

City apparently are trying really hard to lowball BVB for Gundogan:

http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/ ... an-4127301

We really really need to get in that. No way Alonso should be starting other important games for Bayern and no way such an important player should be allowed to leave Germany so easily. And in his case, we actually do need a player like him.

Read that City will annouce his transfer in the next few hours.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36430721

Very interesting to see how Pep manages to play Gundogan, SIlva and KDB all together.... If pep didn't have the personal connection with the board, I would say that this job might be the first one where he would get sacked.... However, since he does, I don't think he will get sacked...

With Gundogan going to city, the thiago to city rumors should end...

There will be many more transfers for Pep, City needs reinforcements and an overhaul ,they have many injury prones and aged core players for a "Pep team" they need some transfers. They will splash some money for a top midfielder(Pogba?) and a CB(Laporte or Marquinhos)

Gudogan Silva KdB can play perfectly behind Aguero. I won't be surpised if Pep picks up a 3-3-3-1 formation, at City there are no borders for him at Manchester he is their messiah, he can try anything, it's a very interesting project considering that City had a tragic season.

Manchester City have announced the signing of Ilkay Gündogan from Borussia Dortmund, who becomes the first signing of Pep Guardiola’s reign for a fee believed to be around £20m.
Statistics are like miniskirts . What they reveal is tantalizing, but what they hide is crucial.
