Xhaka is class, too bad people who don't watch football disregard him because they only hear about the red cards. There are players I prefer, like Weigl or Verratti, but Xhaka is welcome at Bayern anytime.

People watch football player individual and never take their team overall in their "math".

For sure Xhaka is blood but he is a really good regista.

He is just playing with unbrain midfield and under a coach who never got this kind of player in his hand in Arsenal.
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :

Now that you mention it, it's true that Wenger never played with a dedicated dictator. Never occurred to me before.

@tflags He was far better at Gladbach, especially under Favre. In Arsenal he's asked to do things he can't. Expected to play like Nainggolan.

Wenger when he signed Xhaka said : "Xhaka is a box-to-box player and we needed that kind of player".

Say it all about the problem.

Of course he was.

At the moment Arsenal is a weird environment for a talent to flourish mostly because Wenger has lost his authority among the players and the fans. I didn't expect Xhaka to be such a failure to Arsenal while I still believe in his talent he needs to have a better self-control in everything at Gladbach he wasn't so sloppy as he is in London. I think that in a better atmosphere, a steady one like Juventus or Bayern or A.Madrid he could thrive and become rapidly an exceptional midfielder, he has the skills he just needs guidance and a proper supporting cast which Arsenal atm can't provide.

I do. No wonder, in Arsenal you can easily drown into the mediocrity.

September
“I personally prefer him as a box-to-box player.”

November
“He’s more a deep playmaker I think than a box-to-box player. He does not get into the final third of the opposition half a lot,” said the Frenchman. “He is more a guy who has a fantastic pass to play through the lines. He gets the ball from the defenders and finds the high midfield.”

I'm not sure Wenger knows what Xhaka is. At Arsenal it is too unclear what Xhaka is supposed to do, though part of it is that, without Cazorla, Xhaka doesn't have a player equivalent to Dahoud, at least in quality, to partner.

Things were better for Xhaka for Gladbach where he was trusted to be captain and he formed a great partnership with Mo Dahoud. The roles were more clear, though he was guilty of occasionally leaving the defense exposed to attack when Dahoud is not a good defensive partner. Gladbach made good money when Xhaka left for Arsenal, but Kramer is a poor substitute for Xhaka's quality in midfield. Xhaka too must be wondering why he left Germany for the Premier League. He probably would have done better with Guardiola or Klopp, but the EPL soap opera is a bad environment for a player of Xhaka's temperament. He has good aggression, but in England they like to make the referee the star of the show as well. I hope Dahoud takes lessons in Xhaka's experience.

Good player but chose a terrible team to move, he should try to move to another team where his talents are better utilized.

About the card I agree.

About the player and his role as regista, he is all but not overrated.

Better than the current Alonso in every aspect but the spanish has the chance to play for Bayern ... the other the unluck to play for Arsenal.

When you're a regista, you have the key of the car. Alonso doesn't know how to drive a Ferrarri anymore while a Ford isn't enough for Xhaka.

Better than Alonso now, perhaps....but according to many here that isn't saying much. If we want an Alonso replacement we can do much better than Xhaka IMO

Granit Xhaka believes that Arsenal are not too far away from Bayern Munich despite losing 10-2 to them this season in the Champions League and he’s heard nothing from them about their rumoured interest.

In an interview with the Swiss publication, Blick, Xhaka was asked about that nightmare – and quite a bit more.

First up, how did it feel losing 5-1 against Bayern twice?

“Very bad”.

Is Arsenal so far from Bayern Munich?

“No, not at all.”

But the two clubs are not on the same level?

“Hmm…from my point of view…”

Arsenal is as good as Bayern? A bold statement according to the results. Not too brave?

“Bold, yes. But I feel so.

“And I am annoyed by the defeats mainly because I have good memories of Bavaria. We were able to beat the Munich team three times with Gladbach . And I do not think Gladbach is on par with Arsenal. So…”

He was then asked about the rumoured interest of Bayern Munich in him

“… I’ve also read it. But I heard nothing.”

Mezut Özil or Alexis Sanchez? Who is the best footballer you’ve ever played with?
“If I say Ozil, Sanchez is angry and vice versa. But the two are certainly the best. They have incredible quality!”

After the hard public criticism, do you really feel the full retreat of coach Arsène Wenger and the club?
“Definitely! For me it was a very important signal that I was back in the start-up after my second red card and the four locks against Bayern. I did not expect that myself. Since then I play. That makes me stronger. This shows me that the coach trusted me.”

Maybe they aren't too far from Bayern, but with Wenger and that misery of mentality which they've got, they are light years away from every single elite club in Europe.

Sounds at first like someone annoyed they have to answer some dumb questions.

"How bad did it feel to lose 10-2, and is Arsenal far from Bayern Munich?"
