Cahill, Hangeland, Kompany. The best PL defenders this season, any of them would be great for us. Sadly, I don't see it as a realistic deal :?

Rumours about Cahill transfered in january are arising elsewhere, even this week in Barcelona, considering that he was (supposedly) in our list maybe there could be some movement from our board, specially if the troublesome situation Breno is actually suffering does not solve with his comeback to the squad. In that case, and from an spot point of view, there is a need of another CB.

p.s. if someone wants to consider this as an offense to Breno or something so that is his problem, not mine [-X [-X [-X

Well, unless I'm mistaken, Cahill isn't cup-tied for the Champions League...

I think you are right, maybe we should try this signing, cause yersterday another candidate for the CB spot (Hummels) did a great pass to the enemy in the second goal by Marseille, and in general it seems that the CL level is a bit "high" for the whole Dortmund bunch today. Maybe this shows that some young talents need more competition to reach the level we require.

I think Nerlinger said he does not want to come to Germany. If he not is coming to a PL club he is coming to Barca/Real. Frankly I dont see him coming.

I never heard serious rumors in Germany about a possible Cahill signing and I can't recall a statement by Nerlinger someone else from the management about him either. His name was mentioned amongst overs who were observed by our scouts but as far as I remember we were much closer to sign Alex than Cahill.

Gary Cahill

Postby American » Wed Jan 18, 2012 4:25 am

Reportedly at £80k per week. What a joke. That's good striker money. That back line is already very good. I hope this moves Luiz in to a role where he can be more creative. Cahill has been less than average this year. I suppose this means AVB has basically no faith in Bosingwa which may be smart.

Hmm its a good move indeed as AVB has a history on focusing more on defense (a.k.a Porto). He needs to realize though that its his offense that is often very dull and repetitive. Mata alone cant carry the creative burden.

Makes good sense considering working off precedent that Terry is bound to miss sometime.
