Dier lost his spot this season.

Poch is electing to play Wanyama and Dembele instead with Ali.

Yep, the Times says Bayern and Chelsea watching closely the situation of the player who doesn't play much this season.

I think he is a good player. But I dont think he will stay bench all the season.

Would be a good sign that Alonso is not having an extension

Overrated, overpriced and not the typee of player we need, since we need a creative deep lying playmaker to replace Alonso.l hope Ancelotti won't be crazy to keep him.

You say this because of he is english and played in Tottenham or did you watch a lot of game from him last season ?

He isn't a typical english player. Came from Portugal. He has for me a great sense about tactics.

IF Bayern can get him for ~30M€ it would be great.

Of course there will be others options to replace Alonso. But Dier is the one with a way to play close from Alonso, more solid, less creative, still he has only 22.

He reminds me the Alonso from Liverpool a little.

Benchwarmer in Tottenham this season ? Yes like Bentaleb who was in the reserve team the season before.

Pochettino seems to easily have problem with some players.

Every English player is overrated and overpriced for me. in addition, l watched him more than 10 times, definetely not Bayern level yet.He lost his starting spot this season too.

Vidal/Sanches Thiago/X (top talent in case we don't sign Verratti)

considering we need another creative player in midfield, l'd not go for someone like Dier.

Btw, l'd prefer Weigl to him even if we want a more solid less creative player.

Haven't watched Dier much but, yes, all English players are *overpriced*. I rate Sterling and Kane, though, but doesn't mean they aren't overpriced. Getting Dier would require a 50+ bid because EPL has a homegrown quota to fill and there are very very few English players of any notable quality.

Dier is not good. Him having tactical sense is one of the most common misconceptions in football. He's a much lesser version of Mascherano, with inferior tackling prowess and even less intelligence going forward.

If a player plays at CDM and can't dictate tempo, he can't possibly be good. I don't want a one-dimensional destroyer in my team.

I agree about the "going forward". Not at all about his takles.

Same for the tactical sense. If there is an english player with some tactical convictions it's Dier.

Like Alonso he has a great long ball passing quality.

If anybody is interested by the player here is an article about him last season :

Sorry I disagree, he has no tactical intelligence, and he can't pass. Successfully executing long passes a couple of times doesn't mean he has that quality. Watch him against Dortmund last season, absolutely exposed. Didn't know what he was supposed to do.

It almost feels like you're talking about John Stones. Now that's an English player with intelligence.
