Tru city have 3 strikers who they are paying high wages and they dony play( Adebayor, Santa Cruz, and Dzeko) they have to take a loss on a couple of them or risk having them walk for free :P

"We have four strikers and we will start the preseason in five days, it's unlikely there will be major changes in such a short time,” he added.

While on the subject of strikers, the City boss also ruled out the possibility of duo Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez leaving the club this summer, with Juventus again being touted as potential suitors for either.
"The same goes for Dzeko, his farewell is not expected," Mancini continued.

“The interest from Juventus for him? It will be difficult that Edin goes away. Tevez will remain, unless he wants to change team.

We're not buying him anymore even if they offered him for peanuts. We have three strikers, one more on loan away, two players who can play the position in an emergency. End of story.

Yeah... I wish we had gotten a world-class striker but our backups in that area are 10 times better than last season, and more experienced. I am confident that we finally have a complete squad.

Th only problem is if Gomez suffers a long term injury

i doubt any Gomez hater or Mandzukic lover can say they believe if Gomez got hurt or suspended, Mandzukic would wow us all :P

That's the problem, because Mandzukic can replace him for a couple of games or have an impact as a sub when Gomez isn't playing well. But if he had to play every week, I don't think he's what we need. Perhaps Pizarro could be good enough but he's too old to depend on now.

Well l...the fact Nerlinger got the sack probably means the Bayern board had the same feelings toward signing like Mandzukic :P

Neither. If the decision was taken in March as has been reported, he probably had nothing to do with the Pizarro and Mandzukic signings.

Dante could have possible been one of his ideas because while it was still not official, we were strongly linked with him at the time. Shaqiri definitely happened before this decision.

A.C Milan always do things like this just to appease their fans, they like to sound off about how there still one the biggests clubs in the world by looking like they want to attract the worlds best footballers but in reality its almost always hollow and instead of being rich kings their paupers who dont have two pennies to rub together, they try to pray on scraps given out by bigger teams that know a players not happy and they want to ship them out.

Really it was ManCity who messed this transfer up. If they were more reasonable, then it would have been done. For the best I think, would have been more of a headache if we didn't play a two striker system if we got him.

I wonder how much Dzeko would want to come to us anyway. Hes fed up with sitting on the bench at City and im sure he would know that Jupp wont change his one up front strategy and knowing how many goals Gomez has scored would realise he would spend most of his time on the bench as Gomez backup. It doesnt sound that appealing especially if he has to take a pay cut to move here.
