Yeah I think it was pretty nice from Costa. IMO his case is one of poor timing, I have to wonder if we hadn't extended Ribery or Robben so much and he was a first XI starter week in and week out how things would have went.

Matter of fact he would never become an equal to Ribery, he has the technical skills but lacks decision making, intelligence and passion.
We have made a made a mistake to rely on Ribery so heavily in the last couple of years(he can't do it anymore consistently) but Costa's sale was right in every aspect I see it he should have gone. If Douglas Costa stayed at the level of his blazing first 6-month spell when he came and build on that performances then we would be absolutely perfect. He didn't and he will never will catch up that form just some sparks in a couple of games.

Form is temporary class is permanent.

I didn't suggest that he would've became an equal to Ribery, but I think that's a pretty ridiculous standard either way tbh. How many players today would be an equal to Ribery in his prime. Neymar? Cristiano? Hazard on his best day? Ribery at his best was a top-3 in the world player. I don't think there's any shame in not quite meeting that mark.

Allegri ‘not impressed’ by new Juventus signing | Calciomercato

Is that an option to buy or an obligation to buy for Juventus?

That will depend on what kind of agreement we have with Juve.

Both club have a good relationship and I think if Douglas Costa come back to Bayern, those relationship will be hardly broken.
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

From whatever I’ve seen of him at Juventus, he hasn’t exactly been good.

Kassai aside I hold Costa as the chief Bayern player responsible for our QF exit at the hands of Madrid. In the first ET half all he had to do was place his pass nicely at Kimmich’s feet for a tap in. Bayern would’ve led with an away goal and then just sit back and defend. Makes me think What could’ve been had Costa managed to pass accurately.

Also if you go back to the First leg against Atletico in 2016 SF. Costa was at one moment one on one with Oblak and he couldn’t chip the ball over to score an important away goal.

This guy is okay but not great.

What really kills me is that we could have spent the same amount or less to get Yarmolenko(there's some evidence that we were keeping an eye on him), but instead we wasted on Costa because Pep wanted a player who would only look semi-decent in one, very specific tactical set-up that no other coach was ever going to play because it had many disadvantages.
