Srna could leave in January...Srna is out of contract in June and, with Shakhtar apparently losing the battle to persuade him to sign an extension, it appears he may be set to leave.

"There is a chance of a loan in January before moving in the summer, but we will see what develops." Srna's agent, Damir Stimac

Chelsea are the likely candidates at this point but Juventus, Bayern Munich and Tottenham have also been monitoring Srna.

He would solve our fullback problems
Get him on loan this winter :D
KHR said we will get a RB/LB if there are any in market.
We can pounce on him

This is great because if we get him, we will have Lahm and Srna. If we don't get him and Chelsea do, we can get Bosingwa. :D

1)Srna's last year of contract will force Shaktar to sell him this winter
2)We are interested in a great RB/LB (according to KHR and Uli)
3)He has a great friends here (Olic and Pranjic)
4)Since its last year of contract, he will be available for lesser price (for around 15 million)
5)He will work well in our system. Has great setpieces, killer crosses (to help Robben). Lahm will help Ribery in left flank. This will re-vitalize the dangerous left flank
All these 5 point towards: Sran transferring to FC Bayern
It makes all the sense in the world to buy him
Only problems are:
1)He's CL tied
2)Chelsea are interested in his signature and hope he doesnt get swayed away by the premier league( they have ivanovic and bosingwa. I dont know why they need another RB)

Overall: TOP PRIORITY SIGNING THIS WINTER MUST BE SRNA

Srna has been my choice to fix our LB/RB problem (check out my 2010 lineup) since last season. I'd hate to see us miss out on acquiring another great player like when Ozil, van Nistlerooy & van der Vaart became available.

I would love it if Srna became a Bayern player. I'm kinda wondering how long it would take for Lahm to settle back to LB though.

Well, he's not playing that well right now anyway.

I respectfully disagree...
Suppose for a moment, that Srna comes here in the winter... Then he'll be our RB and Lahm will be our LB.... Then for every CL game, Lahm is forced to go to RB, and Contento plays at LB.... These constant changes of position not only affects Lahm's performance, but the stability of our whole defense line.... And That's not something we can afford: not in the CL and not in the BL...

So if we are going to buy a RB in the winter, he should really not be CL-tied.... But if we're buying a LB, the necessity of not being CL-tied is considerably less... Because it would only mean a single-man replacement during domestic and European matches...

But if we are getting Srna at a cut-price deal, well, the board might ignore that problem I guess

You make a good point about that.

if we get a RB not in the CL can we get him into the lineup so he can play in matches?

Yes.. And changing Lahm's position will certainly affect the team
The flow of our wingers who get their support from wing backs will drastically reduce and with a team like Bayern who need wingers to play well, this is not advisable
But the mere fact that this is the last chance of getting him before any other team catches him, we =have no other go

Lahm has stated himself that he is comfortable on either side. Lahm is a leader and plays to full potential whether he is on the left or right. I am sure lahm cares more about strenghten. I hope we pick up SRNA. Great player, would fit in well with out squad. plus we need some older defensive players who can pass on the maturity to our younger defenders.

I would love to see ribery and lahm working together again as well. Robben and Srna is also a match made in heaven.

I am anxious to see what happens. But if chelsea capture his signature then we do have zhirkov and bosingwa...possibilites...
