Do or die time the Hannover game for LVG:

http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/ ... nover.html

Well, to be realistic yet objective, he did offered a lot to the club, but with a (possible) loss of points against Hannover, a CL spot is in danger.

BTW a lot of users didn't like Klinsmann as a coach and think that he had lost control etc. A comparison between 2008-09 and this year shows that we are worse now in BL.

As I said many times, results is what counts to evaluate someone's performance. This year our results are really poor, even with Robbery back.

Our defence is worse than a third division's. Good thing that our attack compensates, or else we'd be rock bottom in the Bundesliga.
It's not the players: it's the training and tactics.

LvG is an ideologist and wants to play attractive football and is completely ignoring the defensive aspects of the game.

In his first season he did well. But the defensive qualities of the players were still quite high from the previous season. But now they've gone down too much due to lack of training. It is time to look for a new coach, one with more balance, because clearly LvG's tactics are extreme.

I admire LvG for his philosophy and methods, and I believe he still can help us a lot IF we can get past this situation....
But I agree it's a good call to fire him, if we lose to Hannover....
Because it will show that he can't manage us in these critical times.... and he has lost his influence within the team....

At the end of the day, it's results that really matter....

The sad thing is that we dont even play "attractive football" anymore. It just looks like van Gaal is trying to make Bayern into Spain, completely ignoring the nuances of both teams.

If there's even one pass between Tymo and Breno (most likely the CBs the next time), I'll hunt van Gaal down, punch him in the back of his head, and tell him to knock off the crap. :P

1) Ralf Ragnick (Bundesliga experience)
2) Rafa Benitez (CL-god)

Those are my ONLY two choices for caretaker coach. I don't think anyone else (who is realistic) would do better than LVG. We need someone who can turn around the team immediately.

But I don't think I would want either of these to stay after the end of the season.

I can only think unrealistic choices (Loew, Klopp, Hitzfeld), so I won't say anything :-#

BTW I have the feeling that somehow LVG will turn around this spell and come clean. He seems to me that he is very lucky. Last year after the worst start of the last decades, we got Robben and resurrected.

After a very disappointing CL group stage and 2 loses from Bordeaux, we somehow emerged from our ashes, destroyed Juventus and made a run until CL final, with (we all have to admit that) the easiest draw we could possibly have.

I'd choose Benitez with my eyes closed. With our current players + some transfers we could get CL.

I'd rather have an egotistical myopic incoherent dribbling (the drool kind) van Gaal as the coach than Benitez.

Let's hope LvG and the team do well in the upcoming matches and we don't get forced to fire him.... Otherwise we will be in a very risky situation....

But if after some unfortunate events we are forced to change the coach, which would be a shame in long-term, we should go for a caretaker who is mostly good in motivational skills... because he won't have enough time to introduce his philosophy...

Louis van Gaal has been given a vote of confidence!

Christian Nerlinger said: "Several media outlets are now discussing the possible departure of Louis van Gaal, but nobody at Bayern Munich has thought about this. People are acting like the two recent losses mean the end of the world, but the situation isn't that bad. I don't see reasons to part company with the coach. The current situation is obviously pretty dangerous and the DFB-Pokal elimination hurts. However, we have to live with it and still have faith in the team. It's now up to us to bundle our forces and bounce back."

Louis van Gaal could be fired if Bayern lose at Hannover. Hermann Gerland, Mehmet Scholl and Andries Jonker are the short term options to replace Van Gaal. Matthias Sammer, Ralf Rangnick and Thorsten Fink are the long term options.
