The thing is, he was successful in his first stint with Bayern II and is doing very well now too. The difference between Bayern II without Scholl and with him is very clear.

It is true that he is inexperienced and that is a risk, but after all Guardiola was also inexperienced when he took over Barcelona. Scholl was a very smart player and he's been successful in his coaching job so far, which is why I am convinced of his talent. I do not think we'd be dealing with another Klinsmann here.

But Scholl uses the midfield diamond!

Come on, element, midfield diamond!

He uses it because we use that tactics in every junior team...we use it so players would get used to switching positions and playing few different positions

True; if this new gig doesn't work out, maybe we oughta call it his 'only' job.

I'm not saying Scholl can't be our coach... we should give him a couple of years to work at FCB-II.... Bring up some of our youth talents with his philosophy... and then if he was still successful, trust him with the senior job.... That way he might gradually make himself ready for the job...

Yeah... he might turn out to be successful like Pep... I'd really like that Scenario... But he might also turn out like a certain Klinsi flop! It's too big a risk for a club like Bayern... Especially given the fact that we have not proved our domestic superiority for a couple of years now... Another couple of years without trophies, and we face risking our image as Germany's number 1 powerhouse.... That's a risk I'm not willing to take by any means...

I recall KHR or Uli saying, "Klinsmann bought thousands of euros worth of equipment, Jupp only uses a five euro marker and a board."

Can't really say it's a positive per se (considering our somewhat dated playing style), but sure.

We MUST bring a PROVED coach, not guys like Scholl, Effenberg, etc. It's not because I don't see them good enough for Bayern bench, but I'm not so sure that they can handle with the pressure of being coach of such a stars who need authority. They can't guarantee trophies in their debut season.

You're doubting that Effenberg could handle other people?

From what I've understood the contact with Guardiola ended when Nerlinger left the club. Nobody from Bayern has been talking to him since then.

I would guess that Slomka is the one in pole position for the moment.

I'd hate to see Slomka. He's very low in my preferred list of coaches.

I would definitely like Pep to come, but I don't think a Pep-Sammer duo would work fine. Sammer, as been critisized recently (and wrongly so IMO), interferes with the day-to-day activities of the squad, and is always seen discussing in-game stuff with JH. And that is why I have a strong hunch that he might be our next coach, even if he previously claimed that he doesn't want to coach. Pep wouldn't work in this 2-man system.
