This was expected. It was planned a long time ago. Scholl hadn't been fired or retired. He was on a temporary absence while he studied to become a professional coach. Jonker was an interim solution for FC Bayern II. Now that Scholl has obtained his professional coaching license, he will return to coach FC Bayern II next season.

Yeah. At some point. He's not that bad. He has an almost equal record with Jupp Heynckes as interim head coach 3 seasons ago. Jupp ended out with us and he's doing a solid job. So, why not give Jonker a try.
That WAS my thought going on the season after Jonker completed his interim spell
But the situation at FCB 2 doesn't look good. But he could have been given another chance
But i guess he wanted to leave due to lack of scope in the senior team

You know appudds... when you want to compare coaches, you have to consider their long term performance, not just a 5-match interim period... In the short term, the result does not reflect the technical quality of the coach at all... It's all about his motivational and man-management skills in the short term.... It's only in the long term that his qualities/weaknesses as a head-coach become clear...

appudds wrote:I wished he could stay for one more year to see how he could progress.

As for Jonker, he has utterly failed with FCB-II in the 4th division... With a team that has been relegated from a higher division, he should have gotten much better results... But unfortunately FCB-II are doing pretty bad, so bad that they are narrowly escaping being relegated to a lower division again!!! So how on earth are you suggesting that he should have stayed for 1 more seasons??? That I can not understand at all!! (Let's forget about proposing him as an option for the senior team!)

What do you expect our reserve team to do?
They lost Muller, Badstuber, Alaba, Kraft, Contento, Ekici and now Can in first team promotions and lost Saer Sene, Saba who were experienced
Obviously, these are the stars for FCB 2 and we didnt sign good replacements or the replacements didn't live up to the expectation.
This can be shown by the fact that after Bayern started promoting youth, Bayern 2's standings went down horribly from being 3rd in 3.Liga to 8th and then to 19th in a span of just 3 years hence getting relegated. Jonker came only after that.
If Jonker was the main reason for this, then there should be a steep downfall. But this isn't the case. There is a constant downfall irrespective of who is the head coach.

True that we need to look at his long term performances. He has proved to be a good interim manager. But many interim managers tend to be good head coaches. Also you cant solely put the blame on Jonker for FCB 2's performance (reason explained above)
I am sure, Bayern will do the right thing in this season's window. So another year would have been nice to give him another chance.

Jonker was constantly being made fun of in Holland for his coaching skills.

When LVG got fired and Jonker took over everyone here made fun of Bayern. This guys failed everywhere as a coach. Lasted one season at Volendam, one season at MVV (these are crap teams btw), and lasted only 3 months at Willem II. For the rest he's never been head coach except at Bayern II and we all know how that worked out.

I supose the reason why LVG likes him as assistant is because he is such a soft character. Doesn't intervene with the ideas of the arrogant LVG, who can't accept it when someone disagrees with him. Juts someone who says 'yes' to everything the boss tells him to do.

Apparently Jonker was supposed to be relegated to the U19s next season. Not much fun for a guy who not long ago was leading the first team, so I don't blame him for leaving.

However, FC Bayern has already found a replacement. Marc Kienle will be the U19 coach next season. He is currently the head of youths at VfB Stuttgart.

Good.... Stuttgart's youth levels have performed very well for the past few years...

On the other hand... What will happen to Kurt Niedermayer, our current u19 coach?

Bayern Munich II needs some a talent overhaul quick we are stuck near the bottom of the Regionaliga and it seems our recent signing dale jennings has not found it easy to adjust...we need some serious talent to at leadt put us back in the 3rd liga and if we are lucky second division.....

League rules make it impossible for FC Bayern II to reach the second division. In fact when they were Regionalliga champions a while back they remained in the same league.

For the likes of Jennings, sometimes it's better for young players to play against better players, and a loan spell to a BL2 team could be of more benefit to them.
