According to Beckenbauer, FC Bayern were very close to signing Matthias Sammer as head coach before opting to go for Louis van Gaal.

Lucien Favre, who Sforza said he was sure will join FC Bayern as head coach this summer is about to get a contract extension. Rumours are spreading that the contract extension offer has a clause that allows him to leave for FC Bayern in a more facilitated manner.

He would be a disaster in Munich.
I really hope we lost interest in him

Or how they are performing right now with their stars.

They choked under pressure if you ask me.

Don't forget there were no stars in Gladbach before he came... They were a crap team and since he came they've been playing sublimly...

Yes, but i was talking about just before Favre came, when they were fighting relegation. I doubt anyone considered any of their players stars back them and now they have quite a few. He is definitly good at bringing the best out of his players. I personally think he is a really good coach, but he is unproven for now.

Favre has no doubt done an amazing job, with little to no funds has turned the worst defence into one of the leading ones - while allot of other teams have imploded - but as it has been pointed out, lets see how he works the transfer market and does in the champions league - I want us to keep hold of the 4th slot, not just lose it to Italy again in a few years.

One thing I will never understand about the bundesliga is how the same old failed coaches rotate between the clubs... how many times has labbadia/veh/skibbe come, failed then gone.

The league needs better coaches like Klopp, even him utterly failed in the champions league(shame, I hoped they would have gone a long way)

I'm not a fan, but in some way id like to see jose mourinho come in for a few years later on, it would be good for the profile of the league to get a few more top overseas coaches in
