I know he went to Paris...but he could be our coach in few years:)...I think we would have success with him...he is still young and has a lot of experience + he is very calm which reminds me of Hitzfeld:)...Trappatoni,Magath, Klinsmann, LVG were all very explossive...and that did not go well with our board. Heynckess is calmer but I guess that is because of his age hehe.

funny thing is that from 1996 [16 years] till this day...the only coach who was calm and was not having problems with our board was Hitzfeld...if we exclude Heynckess:)

This is true but I still haven't given up my dream of the CL this season. I am confident that if fully fit and in good form we can beat anyone. It's our one big chance, I would love to give it our all.

I also think that the German league is very different from the EPL or Serie A. There is a lot of competition in the Bundesliga nowadays and it will not be by any means easy, but I would not say that there is no chance we will overcome the gap and win the league just because Benitez is our coach.

P.S. Benitez is the man I would consider if we fire Heynckes. I do not want him here. I still want Jupp to stay.

So you know we were talking about Benitez a short while ago.
I saw some rumours which I didn't believe at first but here they are now, they are real.

Benitez has come to Munich and has met with Beckenbauer, Hoeness, Lahm and Schweinsteiger. He was also interviewed by Eurosport before the match.

But now Al Sharq held an interview with Benitez in which he said interesting things:

- FC Bayern is one of the best teams in Europe
- Bayern can qualify against Basel and he is sure that they will
- He expects the CL semifinal to be made up of Bayern, AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid
- Most importantly he said that if Bayern offered him a contract to be their coach and it is a suitable offer he would accept it immediately. There has not been any serious negotiation but he claims there were positive messages between him and the Bayern board.

Source: http://www.al-sharq.com/articles/more.php?id=281221 (hopefully somebody can provide a better translation?)

I personally think if Heynckes lost on Sunday, he'd have been fired right after the match.

Benitez is a fine coach and I wouldn't mind him here. But I am a bit worried that he isn't exactly a great leader, and we don't have one on the pitch either. It's definitely a call for Schweini to step up should Rafa somehow end up at Bayern one day.

When I saw him on Eurosport next to the pitch I thought he was just doing some pundit work (he has a column for eurosport.com, by the way), but in hindsight, what does he know of the Bundesliga to be a better pundit than the other guys available? It's intriguing speculation for sure.

Perhaps he is trying to get friendly with the Bayern bosses, for you know, just in case. FC Bayern is a top club now, and every good coach without a job would want to work here unless he was promised to follow up on Guardiola. Just not sure about him seeing the failure at Inter, but then it seems others have failed after him too.

Inter is a shite team and it wasn't Benitez' fault that he couldn't make anything happen there. Like you said, look at all those who have failed after him - Leonardo, Ranieri, Gasperini. The problem there is in the team and not the coaches.

By God WHY is he SO expensive? He reportedly earned the same Guardiola does while at Inter.

Perhaps it's also why he is still unemployed. He said it himself, "suitable offer". He's not just going to sign any contract. He'll want a nice big fat paycheck, a house, a sports car and loads of chicks.

Also the fact that they are all, especially Benitez himself, still in Mourinho's shadow.

André Villas-Boas was fired as Chelsea coach and is currently without a job. Just throwing this out there...

He sure did well following up many prior sackings with an impatient owner of a club that is doing worse than the sum of it's parts.

I caught the throw, but am struggling to see it's relevance. Favre and Klopp will end up just like him should they bail on their clubs. Rather not take the risk on any of the lot.

It seems that Di Matteo will be first team coach till the end of the season.
