I doubt it, the last thing our players want is another disciplinarian after ol'Lou

Which puts forward the unfortunate question of why the club has been unable to extend Don Jupp's contract.

No rushie, he signed for two years. Why extend now and not when the season is over and we have reaped what we sowed over the season.

Welt Online had a very long interview with 'Kaiser' Beckenbauer, which makes an interesting read. One of the more important things he said is that Juergen Klopp is a candidate for the coaching job at FC Bayern.

Klopp is more than welcome here, but again I wish he would stay at Dortmund because that team and coach have a lot of potential together. There are many other great coaches to succeed Heynckes when the time comes. IMO Joachim Loew is the one Bayern are waiting for.

The problem with Loew is that he is unproven at club level. He has only proved to be tactically adept and be able to motivate a team for a tournament. But a club coach needs to do much more than that. He needs:

- to make good purchases (and unlike the NT coach, needs to be able to see the potential in a player not just how good he is now)
- keep the motivation going around the whole season
- give good training
- good man management, eg handling any dressing room unrest.

Löw is definitely not a man manager. Remember the whole Ballack drama? Here he'd have to keep Robbery in check...

Ok Dani. So you want Klopp to stay in Dortmund because he can make them bigger, but you want to take Löw out of the NT

My fav coach is Mourinho too but I don't think he is realistic at the moment. Let's see what can Jupp do this season :)

Well, he's bound to leave at some point. I can't imagine him staying with the German NT all his coaching career, but if he wants to, all the better for Germany.

I actually thought Loew was above all a very good ego manager, calling players personally to explain what he wanted of them or why he did not call them to a game. On the Ballack thing, well, that was a time bomb waiting to happen. I think he was under a lot of pressure and the last thing on his mind at the moment was a farewell match.

On the other hand, NT coaches haven't been exactly great FCB coaches, with few notable exceptions of course.

Our chances of landing Loew are now looking thinner.

Reportedly, Mourinho would like to move back to England, and Real Madrid are considering swooping in for Jogi Loew.

Good. I do not have immense faith in him at club level, let alone a club as big as Bayern (and the egos are even bigger at Madrid).

Can't really imagine Loew coaching outside Germany, especially a Spanish club...

The guy is full of surprises, isn't he? Does he even speak the language? On the other hand he beats Spain with the Bayern mock up team in Poland_Ukraine and he gets one huge Real Madrid coach candidate requirement crossed right there.
