I'm not sure I'm buying this, because both Kicker and Ruhrnachrichten report this as being the solution desired by Dortmund. And even if he agrees, there's still the issue of Hoffenheim having to let him go. IIRC it has been reported that he has an exit clause for 2019, but not next summer.

Nagelsmann says there's still no contact with BVB.

I really really hope that doesn't happen. I fear he'll do great with Dortmund, and will stay there for a long time...

I am sure Bayern can still attract top coaches even if Nagelsmann goes to BVB. Look no further than Leandro Jardim as a top possible target. I am sure rebuilding Monaco every time they have a decent season is becoming quite annoying for him.

I think Dortmund would suit Nagelsmann well. Part of me thinks he'd rather find greater pleasure in taking down the giant than being the giant.

If the choice was mine, I'd do all I could to lure Pochettino away from Spurs and bring him to Bayern.

JN: "I have a yellow coat too, but it's not as good as my red one"

IMO...he wants Bayern. The question is whether or not we'll offer and if he decides to wait on us or move on for himself.

Hopp said at Hoffe's annual general assembly that they'll need to have a successor for Nagelsmann ready by 2019, but suggested he'll stay with Hoffe until then.

As the article points out, this is indirect confirmation of the exit clause for 2019. I think it also suggests he's not going to let him leave in summer 2018.

Which would fit with Hoeness's plea with Jupp to stay another season...

Majority owner Dietmar Hopp of 1899 Hoffenheim does not want to let coach Julian Nagelsmann go prematurely, but has indirectly confirmed the speculation about an exit clause of the 30-year-old. "Julian is an exceptional coach and we'll have to clone him someday," Hopp said Monday evening at the TSG annual general meeting in the Palatin Congress Hotel in Wiesloch: "This clone should be completed by July 1, 2019."

Hopp has reiterated in an interview that Nagelsmann will stay with Hoffenheim until June 30th, 2019. He says even if talks about a departure next summer are held among club officials with another club, he'll attend them personally and he'll insist he stays.

This is over. He's not gonna back down from this, I just can't see it.

Hasenhüttl has reasserted in Bild he doesn't feel ready to coach a team like Bayern.

Tuchel was on a visit in Manchester, watching ManC vs Spurs.
