A friend of mine who works in domestic flights had the delight of meeting Joachim Löw today. If I'd known beforehand, i would have asked him to pass a message.

'Please don't bench Muller, semi-final or any match really..."

Article above

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has failed to reinforce Jupp Heynckes' position as coach beyond the end of the current campaign, which could open up the door for Pep Guardiola to take up the reins of the club in the summer.

Die Roten top the Bundesliga table and have qualified for the next phase of the Champions League, but Sammer's hesitance to commit to Heynckes will ignite speculation of an impending exit.

"The time windows are discussed," the 45-year-old told Bild when asked of the coach's future. "Before March, there is nothing to say on this subject [regarding Guardiola].

"Heynckes has communicated his pride into this team, and is a fantastic coach. We just have to think of remaining humble to the end of the season in order to secure one or two more titles.

"For now, I would ask for more restraint from experts in the outside world, who should not discuss issues based on speculation."

Guardiola currently remains on a personal sabbatical from the game, after resigning from his post at Barcelona at the end of last term.

Now that is what sense sounds like. Any contract talks with JH before the end of the season would be wrong.

Could I be at Bayern Munich next season? It would be a lack of respect towards a current coach to speak about any team.

Did he actually mention Bayern? Because I came across the same quote many times, but most of which didnn't mention a specific team.

Not goal.com but paddy power, a bookmaker. They at least have some idea what they're talking about, unlike goal.

You know to be honest I can't see Guardiola going anywhere other than Chelsea and Bayern. Milan might maybe tempt Guardiola, and City and PSG might tempt Mou, but I think in the end if either of these two clubs want one of these coaches they will get him.

It's impossible to judge now. For all we know, Heynckes may extend after winning Bayern the treble in May, or he may be sacked in March after the team blow their lead. All this will be taken care of at the end of the season.

He is one loveable/fearable/respectable personality. But for our long-term purposes, it would be better if he retired by the end of this season.

Anyways, we're usually discussing coaching transfers here.

Goal are twats, they take interviews and articles from other sources and try to pass them off as their own journalism.

The editorials and match reviews they do for themselves are usually fairly poor, as if they just watch the BundesligaGOAL! Highlights show!

I was a lot more sure that he should quit ASAP to make room for a younger coach half a year ago, but with Sammer here, I think enforcing continuity might be a bit less of an issue.
