Chelsea have spent £86m since 2004 in compensation for managers...more than Everton's entire net spend since the Premier League began.

I doubt Pep would want to move to Chelsea now, its pretty much "mission impossible" being a long term coach at Chelsea and it sickens me that Bayern lost to such a team....

To be honest I think Benitez is a good choice for them. I respect him.

I think it is every manager's dream of going to Chelsea. You sign a lucrative contract, lose a couple of games, get sacked, keep getting paid until the contract expires, get another coaching job.

Di Matteo was on a short leash, I don't think Abramovic wanted him but had to hire him because he won the champions league. If we had beaten Chelski then he would have never became manager.

Best of luck to Rafa, I think he will do great.

I think Bayern won't make a decision on Heynckes until later than January though

The thing is if he's thinking about it in January, he might already have made a decision. I don't think Bayern will make a decision on Heynckes until March or April unless:
1) He has already told them he wants to retire. or
2) He is fired by then.

To be a great champion

But when KHR told that a decision on Jupp will be taken during christmas, I guess they both will have a meeting.
And there, Jupp's plans will be more clear.
I think the reason why Pep is holding till January is because he wants a solid reply from bayern. So, if Jupp says "I am not planning to continue", then its a go ahead for Pep.
But if Jupp is willing to extend, then, Pep will look for other options. Other option (singular) as only AC Milan are the next realistic destination for him apart from us after it was revealed he doesn't want the Chelsea job.
But, I personally wish we go for Pep as soon as possible. Because, let's face it. Heynkces will stay for maximum 2 more years, after which we really need to sign a replacement. And by that time, Pep would have already become a coach somewhere else and it will become a huge headache to get a quality coach then. Who will fit into our philosophy. Pep seems perfect apart from the "Doesn't know german" factor. Which I am sure he can learn...

I cant think of any coach out there who would take Bayern to the next level other than Pep, not just on the field but off the field when it comes to attracting world class players. If Bayern have the opportunity to get a proven coach like Pep i don't see why they wouldn't be able to other than the possible language barrier. The only teams which seem to be in contention are AC Milan and Man C who are trying to attract him by hiring ex Barca executives but i doubt any of those teams would suite him.
