The advantage of extending his contract (OFC IMO ) that we can sell him next summer and use the money to bid for Goetze :) =P~

No way man, no winger is even close to Robben's class when healthy. Shaqiri is still very raw, we need a veteran in our lineup.

I am dead against selling Robben because when he's healthy he is the best RM in the world. We need to be patient with him, he needs more time training with the fitness coaches before he returns to his top form.

I don't see any reason why we should not extend Robben's contract... Both he and the club know about the values of being committed to each-other.... And I believe we'll most probably extend with him....

The exception would be if a rich Russian club like Anzhi or a club like ManCity offers him a huge salary and a huge transfer fee to Bayern, which might result in him refusing to extend on a reasonable salary basis, and might make our managers think about selling him.... But because of his recent injuries, the probability is very low IMO... if he had a wonderful year like his first year at Bayern, it would have been much more probable...

all in all, I see him extending and remaining here, at least for a couple more seasons...

Exactly at the moment theres no match for him on the right when healthy. We need him in CL...and why we are looking into Hoilett. Good talwnt to use in BL. Robben is a prized stallion.. no need to use him versus garbage clubs.

Which would be stupid unless we know for sure that Goetze will accept.

The team doesn't depand on Robben anymore we are playing Better without him and Next season Shaqiri will join . and as we all know Kroos is fixed as #10 (well deserved) So Mueller for me over Robben at anyday on the right Flank , and Shaq to be rotated with kroos and Mueller . It's just my opinion ...even if we fail to sign Goetze i say sell Robben ...

Dream on kid. muller over robben at anyday on the right flank =D> ...robben is better than your muller in whatever position you choose, u either like it or not.

And faster. Muller wont be fast like him...we need him. People on here think we got a squad of superstars... we do not. Muller isnt on Robbberys level..and has ways to go.

We got 5 star players like Robbery, Neuer, Schweini, and Lahm.

Then 4 Star players like Muller, Gustavo, and Boateng.

The rest fall beneath that.

I dont value National team form the same. Simply... National teams arent as good as the top clubs. Most countries dont have a WC or 5 Star player in each position... nor do they play together as much.

I strongly disagree with that. Football is not only to have 5 star players in each position. Otherwise Real Madrid and even Manchester City would play in CL final almost every year. There are many factors apart from the individual quality of the players. One of them is mentality. Most of the time players are way better for their NT than their club because of this.

I agree that Robben is very valuable asset and we should extend him, but I don't agree that 11 * 5 star players make a better team than another team with half "5 star ones". Football -fortunately- is way more than the summarize of individual quality / player rating, that's why it is called a team sport and that's why it so unpredictable. Just try to do a sum of Gladbach players "rating", a team who won us twice this year, against ours.

When Robben is healthy and match fit, he is unstoppable. The problem is, he is rarely healthy and match fit.

Could we take his high salary and use it to acquire a top CD and a decent striker (Olic replacement)?
Just a thought.

We should extend him for 3 years more, and sell him in 2 years.

3 of his main strengths are spark, speed and acceleration. And you start to losing those 3 skills really fast when you reach 30 yo.

There is no need to rush with Robben. We extend with him for next 3-4 seasons and if we get tired watching him on AA ViP box and get a chance of buying Götze, then we always have a solution of selling him to other club.

Arjen is currently going through a difficult period of his career. He told in media how this last injury was the worst which he had ever. We can't count as last 2 times on his habbit of getting in from quickly as we used to see it in his career. He is not in top form, very fast and confident neither like before. Therefore, he wants to get back, give us what he have and possesses, to enjoy in football. Motivation and great desire to retrive excellent preformances are here, just as to sign a new contract with Bayern.

I belive he will be back in good old form, make us happy wtih his slaloms through 3-4 opponent players, with fantastic placed goals behind GKs.

Every comment about selling him or indicating he should be sold as he is not good enough...is just wrong.

When at his best he is 3x better than any other RM we have on our payrol. I know he is selfish and does not trackback...but that is who he is...Ronaldo, Messi and others ultra attacking wingers...also dont track-back.

Muller and Shaqiri will get enough playing time as Robben and Ribery are always injured...It is better to have those two as subs...than Pranjic
