who cares about Carlo's opinion? we don't know if he will stay for next year.

if our MGT cares about his opinion regarding market, it would be a big mistake. We are 3 points behind Leipzig and we failed to lead CL group,we are suffering since the second game of the season so Carlo first should pay for his failure, then he can have a say about market.

Length of Arjen Robben deal at Bayern Munich under discussion - father
The father and agent of Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has told kicker he would not encourage his son to accept a one-year contract extension like fellow winger Franck Ribery.

Ribery, 33, signed a contract extension until the summer of 2018 on Sunday. Like Robben's, his existing deal had been due to expire next summer.

Hans Robben said talks about a new deal were in progress but would not be influenced by Ribery's decision to accept a one-year deal.

"I'm not interested in what others do," he said. "I'm only interested in Arjen. We're still in talks -- there's nothing new to report."

In the past, the Bayern hierarchy have been reluctant to offer players aged over 30 contracts of more than a year.Asked whether the length of the offer was holding up the 32-year-old signing, Hans Robben said: "Yes, we are talking about that too," before adding that he hoped "Arjen can stay healthy for two or three more years."

Louis van Gaal brought Robben, 32, to Bayern from Real Madrid in 2009, and he has gone on to win five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League.

But the Netherlands captain has suffered recent injury problems and has failed to string a run of 10 successive games together since March 2015.

"Arjen can always make the difference when he is fit," his father said. "We all know what he is capable of."

At a news conference on Thursday, coach Carlo Ancelotti said he was "delighted" that Ribery had signed a new contract and confirmed that talks with Robben were ongoing.

He added: "I've already given my opinion on Robben, but it's the club that makes the decision."

2-year extension it's tricky for many reasons such as: a) Robben doesn't stay fit b) Blocks the way for a winger transfer c) a possibility for a huge decline

Bayern must offer 1-year extension like Ribery's case and then we can see about the future or 1+1 extension with an option for the second year on clause depending on appearances for example if Robben in 2017 season makes 25 starts the contract extends automatically for another year.

I like the idea of an automatic extension based on his fitness next season.

Renewing with him for 2 years is too risky. 1 year should be sufficient and in any case, we need a proven winger.

Of our aging stars, I've got the feeling that Robben will retire last...

Sky | Bayern want to extend Robben's contract for one more year until summer 2018. Robben and his father want 2 more years until 2019

I think Robben still is an impact player. If his playing time is managed probably he can be valuable.

His true position is CM. :) He and Ribs together in the middle, Alaba at CB and Rafinha at striker.

But for reals tho, of all the senior players Robben has the greatest ability to make an impact when he's fit imo.

Better move quickly, FC Bayern. Arjen Robben is currently free to negotiate contracts with any club of choice behind Bayern's back. We could lose him to a free transfer in summer!
