I disagree. Even if we make it all the way to the final, our CL games will represent only about a quarter of next year's games meaning that Alex would be eligible for about 75% of games. To me, thats a pretty good amount of games (so far this year van Buyten has played a little less than that). So what it comes down to, is wouldnt you rather have Alex playing 3/4 of our games instead of van Buyten? And wouldnt you like to have a bit more depth at CB considering how often Boateng has been shifted out wide?

I kind of agree... Alex at the beginnning of the season sounded nice, but given his bench-warming role in Chelsea and his increasing age, I would wait for the summer to sign a young talented defender... he would be expensive for us to buy and ONLY use in BL games...

I would buy Alex in a second. He is a great CB and I preferred him over Boateng in the summer and to an extent still do.

Our defense is good enough for the BL, we really need help in the CL. I don't want to see DvB's slow ass get burned by Aguero or Messi. If we signed Alex he'd only play BL games not the CL games where we actually need him. At the beginning of I wanted Alex mainly so he could play CL games for us. Now I just don't see the point, I'd rather buy a younger and not cup tied player who can play CB/RB.

We have the player youre describing already and his name is Jerome. Dont get me wrong, I know it would be better to get a CB who can play in the CL, who do you recommend?

So it seems that Alex is on his way out at Chelsea. We were linked to this guy earlier but it seems he is very close to signing for EPL side Queen's Park Rangers.

Chelsea, on their part, have already signed up Alex's replacement. I guess if we're still remotely interested in this guy, now's the time.

I supported him greatly. I dont.He's finished. Injury prone,30+ or atelast 28-29 odd. Another Brazilian. Absolutely no need. Jan is much better than Alex in this point & is bigger future prospect as well.

I think Alex to Queens Park Rangers is nearly sealed.

I knew he wanted to leave and is not exactly a teen, but 6 mil? That is a bargain. BTW, transfermarkt put him up at $13mil ( ) and already lists him at PSG.

I would not but him for 6 Million when Dante has a release clause same or less,ha played BL,1 year odd younger & less injury prone. And not even Cup tied.

I was a big supporter of Alex but he is almost over. Bayern can do better & get a 23-24 year odd & be assured for the next 10 yeas. That is why I want Hummels or Vertonghen

Alex has not been having a good season but I would have brought him in nonetheless. I think a change in teams will do him good, and for that amount of money it was worth a try
