While I am not sure whether or not this is possible, I think it is, and I believe it would be beneficial for the forum.

I've noticed that many times, when new users join the forum, they say that they have been reading the forum for a while but never registered before. I think that if it is possible, it would be good to allow non-registered users to post in certain areas of the forum (the most sensible would be the "Matches" sub-forum or even just the "Bundesliga" one). I think this might bring a small increase in the number of posts (particularly since most registered users comment in chat during the game) and it could also be an incentive for these lurkers to register. More often than not, once people start posting and are drawn into a discussion, they will stay, at least for a few days or weeks.

I think it is worth trying on certain threads.

No, we will get too much spam and there is no longer an incentive to register. You cannot have a decent conversation and know who is posting what if everyone is a guest.

A limited guest with one post per week on no more than three possible (open) threads would hurt no admin. Or disgruntled fan for that matter.

Assuming it's possible to do that though.

I can understand the spamming issue, so it's up to MUTU.

While I agree with the spam thing, the incentive here would be not only posting in one subthread.

I believe we let it be like it is currently. After all, how long does it take to register?
Plus, someone who's interested in conversations would only register.
Guest posting might result in no. of posts from lurkers but we cannot be sure about what kinda posts.

PS : Hey MUTU, I was thinking that if a user remains inactive for say 6 months(or something), why don't we introduce a auto-mail saying that we miss you and how about re-joining in the conversations on Bayerforum. It could probably help us recover some old inactive users.

What a coincidence. I contacted some old users who used to be very active but haven't posted in a while. They are all okay thankfully, just really busy at the moment.
