He still wasn't good enough for a starting place.

True, however... He was about to. Everyone had seen that during 12/13 campaign. Everything after that was a clear miss. We failed with Götze too. Now Thiago is the only one who remains to finally become one of the three important players. We probably wouldn't buy Coman and Costa that Shaqiri and Götze succeeded at Bayern yet they didn't and that's over.

But Joe Hart case shows something else and that's what Shaqiri pointed out. Even Ribéry had something to say, lately. :|

It's true that Shaqiri was better at the time, but he was never good enough especially at a time when Robbery were better than they are today. His problem wasn't the coach. After a year on the bench he became too desperate to prove himself and even more selfish than Robben at his worst and with every appearance he made his situation worse instead.

I heard something what reminds me on Ribéry's case with only difference where Ribéry had already been a formed player. I see some similarities with Shaqiri except the last part. Ribery under van Gaal lost two years and the Frenchman didn't hide his opinion about the Dutch coach while everything return in normal when Heynckes led Bayern(or Hitzfeld before van Gaal).
Under Guardiola's philosophical and tactical ideas Shaqiri couldn't find himself in the real thing although he started the autumn 2013 very well with 3-4 goals for Bayern, but as the time kept moving forward he was stagnating and slowly losing himself in the Bayern sheme. In Heynckes less demanding system and ideas Shaqiri was slowly rising and it was expected to see the Swiss international after one more season to be in the real style for 2014/2015 campaign. But till then he only got worse and there was nothing more left but moving somewhere else. Nevertheless, his mind was completely ruined and whatever he tried in the pitch it was so bad for him and Bayern overall.

We'll see also what's going to happen with Götze at Dortmund and if he'll permanently suffer consequences of 3 lost years at Bayern.

You're way overstating how good Shaqiri was under Heynckes, and the faults that led to him leaving Bayern (and why I would rather not have him back) were obvious even back then. He was an unversatile player with poor tactical intelligence. He worked supremely as a rotation winger against the poorer teams in the Bundesliga, but the demands of Bayern were then and still are too great for him. I am happy he found a good place at Stoke where his positives are catered to. But we can't afford such luxury.

He had immense potential, shame that he didn't develop in the player he was expected to be... shame that he plays for such a small club.

Very disappointed that Shaqiri couldn't have produced those goals in Munich....

Quite within our rights. He's probably found his level at Stoke.
