This rumour seems to be gaining ground in Spain and it is reportedly very close. I still doubt it.

Schweinsteiger and Alonso, what a combo.
I wouldn't mind him here, put i preffered not.

Xabi Alonso is a great midfielder. His main problem is his age and that's why he usually struggles at the end of every season. He was so important for Real that he played almost every game in the last 3-4 seasons and that's why he is usually very tired in the later stages of the season.

But here in Bayern it would be different. He won't have that key role, so he'd have time to rest and he'd be able to play his best football when needed.

And on a side note, that would make Real's midfield much more weaker with just an unhappy Khedira as defensive midfielder.

I wouldn't mind getting him. He's exactly what we need while Martinez is recovering and has huge CL experience, he's a 2x winner. Not bad eh?

All depends on the fee & the wages...If he's taking a significant pay cut and we get him for cheap, why not ?
Wouldn't stop Höjbjerg and Gaudino from getting into the team due to his age and when he's gone they're ready.

According to Marca the deal would be 10M and Xabi ALonso would have a 10M gross salary

Yikes! I would be happy if Xabi was at Bayern but that seems a little to steep for my liking. I dont see the board accepting such terms from R.Madrid who are just trying to squeeze as much cash for Xabi Alonso as they can.

It's an insane amount, but if we give him say, a two-year contract, it'd be 30 million in total.

Well, it looks like it's almost a done deal. The price would be between 5-10M and his gross salary 10M as I said before.

That's what's being discussed here in Spain at the moment.
