Okay, time to talk about the elephant in the room. What's wrong with Müller? Since the break he's been terrible with his handling of the ball. He can't get good shots off, he can't control the ball quick, he fluffs so many opportunities. The intelligent movement and physical game is still there and it's as good as ever (that run to drag Lewa onside at Paderborn was gorgeous, for example), but he screws up so many chances right now... or am I the only one to see this? :|

I agree, the guy misses so many clear chances. Rarely a game changer when needed, and i dont know. He's pretty good sometimes but i dont really sees a spot for him in our team so i wouldnt mind if he goes for the right price.

What clear chances? Most of the stuff he gets are bad passes, he does most out of nothing tbh. No price is right to sell him imo..

It's Müller and it has always been Müller style. I remeber how many disgusting moves he did in 2012-2013 in many matches, I mean... That was on close line to put him into the jail. But that's typical him. He can be a real trash, the ball can just hit off him like of somekind of tree and then boom - last 15 minutes 2 goals. I've learned to live with that. :)

It's just seemed a bit worse, a bit more awkward these last few games. But maybe I'm projecting it on him.

He can't play as lone striker and be expected to hold-up the ball like Lewa. That was one of the problems against Shaktar. He was flanked by 2 defenders and he doesn't have the strength to fend off both. Lewa and him needs to play together if Mueller will play more as a CF, he needs another one to do 1-2s with.

Mueller is not a high volume shooter, he shoots less on average from all our attackers. He averages 2 shots per game and he makes it up with efficiency. Right now he still averages 2 shots per game. Is this slow down a weird result for Mueller? Maybe not. If we look at his goals from matchday 18 to 34 in 2012-2014. He doesn't score a lot on the second half of the league. 2012/2013 12 appearances, 4 goals (total of 9). 2013/2014 14 apps, 5 goals (total of 13). This season he got 6 apps, 2 goals since winter break (total of 9).

That's why Mueller is a scoring enigma. His game defies any interpretation.

I don't know... Maybe his position and the role on the pitch isn't giving him an opportunity to express himself or maybe he's form slowly decreases... We'll find out in the next few matches.
