As RR said, it's best combined with this.

World Cup maestro, natural-law breaker, national hero... Now 'super-computer' too?

Marcotti wrote:Few players in the world game do this better than Mueller ... showing a more cynical side, the way he gambled on body-checking Alba, instantly playing the percentages in his head: "Worst case scenario? I get called for a foul on Alba. Best case scenario? I take him out and [Arjen] Robben can have a go at goal." Whatever microprocessor is lodged in Mueller's brain weighed the pros and cons, performed the neural equivalent of a cost-benefit analysis, then elected to direct Mueller to take out Alba.

To be quite honest, the whole game vs Barça could be summed up in a perfect display of FMM: "FULL MUELLER MODE."

Müller himself has said that he actually doesn't think about such decisions, he just acts. There's really no time to articulate them in your brain like the article describes.

The thing I adore about Thomas Muller is that you'll never find a YouTube video about him called "Thomas Muller new skill move 2013" like you would Neymar or Hazard or Mata or pretty much any player of a similar position. Muller's skill is his brain. He may or may not do it consciously, but he makes the correct decision almost always. Take his goal versus Chelsea for example. I'm pretty sure any other player in Europe would have headed it directly over Cech, but not Muller. Somewhere deep down inside him, he knew that if he bounced it off the floor first, he'd stun Cech and have a much better chance. Another example is his first goal versus Stuttgart, the equalizer, back in September. The way he just passed that ball to the side of the net is something very few players would have done. Any of his peers would have smashed it at Ulreich or maybe even attempted a cheeky chip, but not Muller. Bless him.

With the arrival of Guardiola, Muller is a serious candidate to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2013. I bet my balls.
