Muller had an excellent no-look cutback assist to Lewandowski, and of course goal poached his goal. He also headed the ball down to Robin for his goal, getting another assist by all reasonable definitions(most statistics didn't include that assist because one of the defenders managed to get a slight touch on the ball even though Robben maintained possession). He won the free kick that Alaba scored from. Finally, his run drew defenders away from Lewandowski, giving Lewandowski enough room to easily score Coman's cross. So, basically, he had significant involvement in 5 out of 6 goals.

If that's what happens when Muller plays poorly, I shudder to think of what happens when he plays well.

On a more serious note, I'm totally fine with Muller "playing like shit" for 85 minutes if we score 5 goals in the 5 separate minutes, spread out over the course of the game, that he plays well. Muller, after all, is much more of a "quality" player than a "quantity" player and the things he does only have to sometimes work.

Oh, I didn't mean any game in particular, he has just had an inordinate amount of bad controls, touches, poor passes, etc by his standard. He is never the most traditionally speaking technically proficient player, but he generally get the job done in that department too. Not this season, and yet he manages to influence games positively, which is remarkable.

Someone, fire that Italian **** already! I don't care who, I don't care how much it costs or who'll be the next coach - just make sure he's gone and he stays gone!!!

The signing of James could prove to be fatal to Thomas Muller's place in the starting eleven. This could prove to be a dark day for Müller and Die Mansschaft.

Bayern don't owe any player anything, if Muller is the top class player we have seen and have known him to be there is nothing to be worried about. No player is ever gonna be bigger than the club....
Welcome to the Allianz Arena....

No position is guaranteed. Müller must earn his starting spot as anyone else would.
That being said I wouldn't be surprised to see James and Müller on the pitch at the same time a lot.
