Is anyone else a bit worried about Muller's reaction to LVG's dismissal?

He's a great player, no doubt, but there's no doubt that LVG had a lot of faith in Muller. Muller made his breakthrough under LVG, and he became an indispensable player to us. Prior to the WC, he wasn't performing well in the big games (such as the CL), yet LVG kept on trusting him.

And there's no doubt that Muller himself has great respect for LVG. He showed that at the WC, when he said that the team played like a team coached by "Louis van Loew".

I am sure that Muller will move on and play his best soon, but it might affect him for a couple of games and we need him to be at his best more than ever.

He's done two seasons in the top flight now, he'll man up and get over it.

Agreed. Mueller is so mature for his age, he's a model professional. He's the LvG-benefitter (others include Kraft, Badstuber and Schweinsteiger) which I expect to least have a problem with this.

But it was LVG who gave him his real chance. Before LVG came here he was considered our 4th striker after Klose, Toni, and Olic, and then 5th choice once Gomez came.

He was a Bayern youth product before LvG and he will remain a Bayern product for years to come. At that age did anyone think Schweini would become vice-captain? Doubtful. Muller is young, passionate, gifted and as he matures he will realize his true role on this team just like Schweini did no matter who the coach is.

I dont liek soft boys like LAhm and Muller captaining our team
I loved crazy people like Kahn and Effe who were always ready to kick our players' ass if they werent performing.

+1 karma. That's why I think that van Bommel was worthy of captaincy. We don't have any tough characters anymore, unfortunately.

Gustavo might become one, if he gets some more meat on his bones. He sure likes tackling people.

Badstuber looks like he'd become one, but he's a gentle soul on the inside.

Breno... might become one elsewhere.

What I'm hoping is that Kroos turns out to be a real hardass. Müller is a softie, but Kroos looks like he might grow up to be Toni van Bommel.

I see what you mean, if he can nail down a starting position and develop next to Schweini I see him as a future captain. I remember when Muller got sent off in Bordeaux he got on his knees and begged the ref not to send him off and thats not what a captain does. Kroos has so much potential and Im sure hes going to start to fulfill it. People are judging him at a time where the entire team is playing poorly. Im sure Müller will wear the armband quite a few times but I hope it will be as a vice captain rather than our first captain.
