In about fifteen minutes, he recovers, sets up and scores a game winning goal. Sure, he SUCKED against Juve! God I wished he remained on the bench! Everyone was playing so well that game.

I'm going to leave it there because seriously I'm having too much fun right now at the expense of your assertiveness. Really, we must have watched different games.

He was not really terrible against Juve but he didn't play well either.
Sloppy and careless play.

Well, you cannot say he had a bad game because he played 30min and scored a crucial goal

But the first three things that Thiago did when he was brought into play were losing 3 dangerous balls that led to counterattacks

Thiago is not dictating play from midfield as well as he can, that is clear. It is also clear that that doesn't take away from the fact that he is absolutely committed to the cause (so much that he scores important goals for us). He needs to improve his form, yes; but he has also won the right to be given the chance to (by playing most of the time).

He lacks consistency as someone before said... was that one of the reasons that Barca offloaded him? :P

Barça did not offload him. They messed up and we activated a release clause, upon which they decided to negotiate to avoid the taxes and stuff.

Yes, I know that... would they have messed up something like that if they thought that he was indispensable? I'm not that naive... consistency is everything in that role in midfield. Was he part of that famous Barca that we thrashed something like 7-0?

Hardly. He played 25 minutes in the second leg.
The president of Barca said they wanted to bring him back, but they got a clear answer by Thiago extending his contract.
I think that's a sign that they think they made a mistake.

I think that mostly had to do with complacency born out of a sense of invincibility brought by Pep's all conquering team. They thought Iniesta and Xabi would last forever until 2013 proved it wouldn't. By then it was too late and Thiago wanted out.

You still don't put a low price ceiling on a dispensable player. You don't try to sell someone for less than they are worth, unless you are Bayern, and even then turns out most of our sold players don't end up being very valuable anyway

If you calculate everything... Barca didn't miss a lot for letting him go... he's been injured most of the time... they got rid of his pay... and they won the CL after him among other things. I say Barca didn't do a bad business in this case. He had a release clause which was about his real value at the time... Not a great miss if you ask me as how things turned out so far.
In the other hand, Bayern made plans with him but he was unavailable most of the time, had to give him a pay even then... maybe some players that could've served us more were driven out because of him... and etc. We can still sell for 25M, I believe but... not being available and making him a serious part of our project, that's an irreversible cost IMO.

If you think Carlo will bring in another CM and try to strengthen the center, could you imagine Thiago as a Iniesta-esque LW for us?
The left wing more centrally orientated with Alaba & Thiago, while the right side sticks more to the wing (Robben, Costa, Coman).
He's playing in left central midfield for us anyways at the moment. I think he's the best the further up he plays.
Would be a nice tactical option. Anyways, I hope Ancelotti brings in a top class CM like Gündogan.
