His absence is definitely being felt at the moment. I didn't really expect that.

I was sure we would miss him. It had already been evident what a difference him not being on the pitch made when he was benched.

Have you guys read/heard about this? Possibly the funniest thing I've read in a while...

Ah the Express...always good for a laugh!

Thiago Alcantara didn't have what it takes to play for Manchester United [source]

Even if this ACTUALLY happened, guess Man U and Moyes definitely knew what they were doing...

Thank you Giggs, you're the best! :)

How have the Man United fans reacted to this?

Most of the ones on RedCafe are saying it's not true, and that the guy who wrote it is one of the worst journalists around. Even the ones that say it might be true are saying it still reflects more badly on Moyes than on Giggs. Moyes is the head coach, he's supposed to make the final decision, and since this transfer was coming through under SAF, if he thought Thiago was MU material, who is Giggs to say he isn't? Can't help but agree with them on that one...

I read a little bit on there too, some of them says that Thiago was never MU material at all (!?). But, hey, which red club had the last laugh, ey? :D :P

That's ridiculous seeing how much they all wanted him last year.

I think it could be true because there is a good chance Thiago was heading to Man United. Remember De Gea's ball?

Kroos is a guy who controls the game and makes the whole team better without needing others to do his dirty work.

I'm telling you, those "Thiagos" are having a hard time keeping up. Here, another rave review on the 'dirty worker'.

... and more reviews for the 'dirty worker' with a few counterparts. Looks like those 'Thiagos' are also on top of every single list:

* Best transfer of the season by Bundesliga.com
* Best goal of the season by Deutsche Welle
* Third best player of the season by The Guardian

Honigstein wrote:Thiago Alcântara “Thiago or nothing,” Guardiola insisted. There was no obvious space in Bayern’s central midfield for the former Barcelona squad member but the 23-year-old quickly found one anyway. The Spaniard’s passing range and ability to beat opponents in tight spaces made the Reds an even more daunting prospect. The fact that they started losing games once he got injured in April was probably not a coincidence.
