But also conceded some very stupid passes and lost possession a few too many times. He is a bit too cocky for his own good, he needs to calm down and at times see that like Kroos or Xavi, you don't have to be flashy to control the midfield.

And just like with Vidal, I think he got too tired covering up ground for Alonso.

I hope next season he continues his growth. Hopefully and Vidal can still keep going at this level.

You seriously can't expect him to do that now do you? I was frustrating to see Hummels misplacing passes without anyone in front. The whole team looked quite poor as the winger lost so many balls Bayern had to drop Thiago into a third DM role to help out Alonso and an overworked Vidal. On top of that Costa decided not to run for some inexplicable reason. Pinning a game on a single person when he was clearly playing out of position and covering ground that he shouldn't have was annoying. I said it before, Vidal was so lost things stabilized once Ancelotti put Thiago on left DM and things starting flowing again.

As best I can tell....

"Not everything the Brazilian-born Spanish midfielder was bellowing was understandable, as much was lost to the echoes in the catacombs...but this much was unmistakable: "Que se dejen de tonterias! Somos el Bayern, jodor!" (I don't know Spanish, but google translates this bit as "Stop being silly! We are Bayern, dammit!") or loosely translated as "Let the faxes leave! (I assume this is some sort of German idiom that I'm not familiar with...), We are Bayern, dammit!" or perhaps just... Mia San Mia goes Latino."

Anyone have a translation for "Die sollen die Faxen lassen"?

I am also intrigued by the phrase since my German is not enough to understand this idiom. It is all over the place:

"Die sollen die Faxen lassen" [source]

I wonder if it is an idiom from the 80's when fax machines were common and it means something like: "Let the news spread"

That's my guess, something like that or basically saying "alert the media" etc

Or it could mean that nobody should fight what was meant to be. There is no point on holding on the fax machines if it is inevitable that they will go, so there is no point on thinking that they can be above Bayern.

Related: CIES Football Observatory's top-5 big league players for 16/17 season.
Thiago ranked as their #1 CDM.
(Along with Javi as #1 CB, Hummels #2; Neuer #1 GK; Alaba #3 FB; Lewandowski tied for #4 CF)

You're kidding right?

"Faxen" is about the same as "shenanigans", so it's basically "they oughta stop the shenanigans"
