I am for this as well, Japanese football is on the rise and I am certain we can get some talented players from there. However, I still feel that the bulk of the modern talent is coming from Eastern Europe and that is definitely a place we should be investing MORE in.

yes 70% of them fail if they go directly to a big club (ask Bayern about that)

The best South American players are quite expensive. In Eastern Europe there is less talent, but they are better value for money. Of course, you still need to pay them wages relative to the wage structure at the club.

you would buy the player then loan him out i would think, no?, the Brazilian number 10 Lucas looks very very talented

btw, that guy that Arsenal bought Ryo Myiachi(spelling) has looked good for Feyenoord

These are important values especially when we have a coach like LVG. They become even more important when it comes to backup players. We don't want anyone to cause any disquiet on the bench.

I am with this idea.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about any of these players?

EDIT: Lol I used "any" so many times

Takashi Usami sounds like a good replacement for Klose. Young, energetic and who would probably not complain about being on the bench. Japanese have a knack of being true professionals.

honda is overrated and expensive- we want a bench player with the potential to be great-
I still don`t see the logic in selling ekici ( who has had a very convincing first season in bundesliga ) to werder and buying a 19 year old asian player in his place-
this is like the petersen transfer , it can be brilliant but it also can ruin our next season
