Seriously..I now feel so guilty that I wanted him to be dropped for Starke/Fruchtl at one point of time..
He is clearly the best second choice keeper in the world currently and best 2nd choice bayern have ever had!

Ok, come on this is going too far... Ulreich is quality, but when you see Trapp at PSG, Cillesen at Barcelona, Bravo at City and other examples...

Trapp is arguable but haven't seen him play recently and doubt that I will see him playing this season..
Currently Ulreich is better than Cillesen..ask barca fans about his reflexes and distribution..
Bravo..come on mate is this a joke? Didn't you watch Man City last year? He got dropped FOR the 2nd choice in the club..

Current form is key. I wouldn't be surprised if in recent games Ulreich pulled off better saves than the first team GKs of those teams.

Obviously at some point he will come back down to earth. He's probably overperforming.

Bayern Munich's Sven Ulreich is man of year and should sign deal - Hoeness
Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has hailed back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulreich as "man of the year" and urged him to extend his contract.

Ulreich, 29, has deputised for injured first-choice Manuel Neuer after the Bayern captain suffered three separate foot fractures last year.

But his contract expires in the summer and he has previously indicated that he would consider moving in order to play regular first-team football.

Hoeness told kicker: "For me, Sven Ulreich is the man of the year. He has performed incredibly in Bayern's turnaround and definitely should extend his contract."

In the final Bundesliga game before the winter break, Ulreich saved a late penalty to secure a 1-0 win against his former side Stuttgart, leading coach Jupp Heynckes to say he was "worth his weight in gold."

In October, Ulreich told ESPN FC in an exclusive interview: "At the moment, I'm not thinking about my next contract. I will give my best and see what happens."

On Wednesday, the keeper had to leave training prematurely after spraining his right middle finger, but the problem is not serious and he told reporters he expected to return to full training on Friday.

Bayern return to Bundesliga action at Bayern Leverkusen on Jan. 12.

I hope he does and I believe that he will actually sign. However if I was him I would not... probably there will be some vacancies come June with Leno tipped to be leaving Bayer.

Saved a penalty again today and was overall fine.

Serious question, Should he be called up for Germany’s friendly matches in March?

Sven has been goalkeeping for Germany’s biggest club for months now and has done a decent job too. Meanwhile Trapp has been rotting on PSG’s bench and Leno has always committed errors when playing for Germany (Qualifying games against Azerbaijan both home and away and the Confed Cup group game against Australia). I surely think Ulreich deserves a look if he can continue to perform the way he has since Jupp’s arrival.
