Some Dortmund fans I know are pretty upset/angry about the headline of the Suddeutsche Zeitung:

Wer in München durchfällt, ist immer noch ein Kandidat für Dortmund.
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

They kinda should, BVB should aim higher (no offense to Rode). They should go for someone with WC-potential ala Dahoud or someone like him.

I agree... It makes much more sense to go for Dahoud rather than Rode...

In any case, if Dortmund are really after Rode, we should set a high price for them because of the way they treat transfers deals with Bayern....

The transfer fee is 14M according to Kicker today.
Bild says 15.

Some BVB fans wrote yesterday on one czech forum that they do not understand this signing.
What is your opinion?

It's hard for them because it's usually us buying from them, not the other way around. They will understand in time. :coffee:

Maybe BVB see him as a sort of utility player or a bet, and also to bolster the squad.
I think, if given the playing time, he could flourish. And if a price around 10m is correct, then that's pretty fair, for a player with CL experience.

To rotate with Weigl?

I read their complaining about Rode's position in BVB.
He is CM/DM and in BVB they can put there Sahin, Weigl, Castro or Bender forumers said.

It is a bad move for them. Rode is not good enough to make BVB a serious team. But I don't get why people say he is a DM. He is a b2b MF, doesn't play at all in Weigl or Bender's position. He seems to me a replacement for Gündogan.

I think Tuchel wants more steel next to Weigl next season as he continues to drop Bender into defense.
